| Stuck with PAYING at VET?? grrr??? I am usually quite patient but I am steeeeaming psssst right now. I took Zander & Jazzie to the vet in August, 91.00 was the damage. Today I get a bill that says --- OOh we forgot to charge you for ANOTHER 80 something dollars, grrrrr. I don't like those types of "surprises". I am in the process of saving for Jazzies Rabies, I am told that they want to distemper Zander & gobs of other poo! that is going to cost, cost, cost! I'm tempted to say well too bad, too late... Am I stuck with that???

| How frustrating! What were they there for? Just the annual? This isn't the same thing, but my dentist did this and sent me the second "oops" bill 5 months after the visit. I tried to get answers, but in the end didn't have much recourse since I did get those overpriced services.

| When you picked up Zander and Zazzie, did they present you with the results of those tests that they said they gave? I would want to see that paperwork results from those tests. If they are that disorganized it could be from another dog. I guess it all depends on how much you like this vet, as to whether or not you raise a stink about it.

| Hi, No they did not present the results. I think I will go to the vet office tomorrow and look at the files myself. This sudden news was a bit unsettling to say the least. grrr

| I would let them know how you feel. Before the next visit, get a written estimate or consider changing vets. Gracie's surgery was over $300 more than the written estimate. I challenged them on it. They said the surgeon increased his price but they forgot to update the estimate. They ate the difference as it was their mistake, and I still go to them.

| I appreciate you sharing your experience, it gives me more "ammo" for my visit tomorrow. I am glad that you were not made to pay that additional money.

| I always get a quote first. When I make the appointment. I ask how much it will all be. The receptionist usually tells me, and I haven't had this happen to me yet. I took my cat Misty into the vet today to get a cyst removed from her ear and asked up front and told them to call me if there was going to be any extra charges. They called me and told me they forgot to add in anesthesia, so I said ok. I like to stay in control of exactly what theyre doing to my pet and each thing I'm being charged for.

| That has never happened at Ellie's vet and I wouldn't be happy. In fact, we were given an estimate for her oral surgery and in the end it was lower than the lowest estimate. The vet also called in the middle to talk about what she was seeing and what had to be done... I think the vet should eat the cost.

♥My Lil' Monkey Girl♥ Donating Member | Do you have a receipt of paper showing what they did ...if so if its not listed on the bill then you can fight it since it wasnt on there. Its not your fault they didnt record things right. And why now why now are they trying to charge you for something??
