I do not own a Yorkie as some of you know... I own a Maltese. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the difference in the hair quality of a Yorkie and Maltese?

I was once told that a Yorkie does NOT matt as much as a Matlese does. Is this true?

Yorkies and Malteses have the same quality of hair . They both can be cottony or silky .

This is Kellie's coat : She have a silky coat .

Kodiesmom, I have a maltese and yorkie. My yorkie has very silky hair and she can go all week without brushing and never get a mat. My mom has a maltese that has very silky hair that rarely gets a mat too, but the texture is still very different as she is still fluffy, where my yorkie is not fluffy at all and very thin coated.
