| Question for the breeder about pup size I had read somewhere that the runt usually happens because the rest of the litter came about from one breeding and the runt came about from a later breeding and was born earily. Does this really happen? I was under the impression that the female goes into heat, the male couples with the female and that's it. How long is a female usually in heat? If the male and the female weren't seperated how many times might they couple? Could a single pup come out of each of these couplings? I ask this because I think my pup looks very old for his age compared to some of the other pictures of seen of pups the same age. His man parts dropped a 10 weeks if that helps. The breeder I got him from just had the male and the female and they were never seperated. I was wondering if my pup might be the opposite of the runt. He took at the first coupling and the other took at a later coupling. Then they were born at the same time. The other pups were at the right age to be born, but mine was actually late. I was a picture when he three weeks old where he's twice the size of his sibling. He's the giant one looking right at the camera. I'm just curious about this. My little guy is big 6 lbs at 12 weeks. This picture is him at 9 weeks. I will love him even if he gets to be 50lbs. I was just curious about this.

| pup I would not guess he was only 9 weeks from the photo...but it is very possible, since he is a larger Yorkie. Yes, he is big for his age, but perhaps his family is oversized as well. You will have a good idea his age when his puppy teeth start falling out...usually at 5 months..although they can lose the tiny ones in front at 4 1/2. AS to his "man parts"..I can see testicules at 4 to 6 weeks sometimes, so that is tricky. Puppies can be conceived at different times in the mating...if the smaller of the litter catches up in a few weeks, then I say it was the runt...if it stays small, then it is genetically made to be "tiny"...you have a wonderful boy, his size is unimportant as you say, unless you were promised a tiny and paid for a tiny. | Nope she didn't promise anything in the way of size and they were all priced the same ($400). She said she figured he'd be between 5 and 11 since that's what his parents were, but she didn't know.

| He is so cute! I remember when mine were that age, they grow up so fast so take lots of pictures. It's so fun to watch them grow and change.

| Yes, he's big for 9 weeks-wow. BUT, he is ADORABLE! Like others have said, as long as you love him, he's healthy, then he's perfect (and he already has the cute part down).
