That Yorkie Magic!!!! As a confirmed animal lover since childhood...I have had a virtual parade of them through the years....we have had rescued dogs and cats, registered breeds and critters of all types. At one point when our son lived at home...we had 38 animals.....ducks, chickens, snake, cat, dog, iguana, hamsters, horse, pig, calf, and various litters or babies from some of them. We have had an interesting life! At present, the kids are grown with kids of their own..and my husband and I have a calico cat that somebody dumped in the middle of an intersection in Houston...A Boston Bull female that I could not resist and a Doberman female that we purchased for protection during an unusually hostile political campaign for my husband. But nothing....I repeat nothing has captured my heart like Max...our little yorkie. I have never loved an animal like I love him. He follows my every step, wants my undivided attention, waits in the front window on the back of the sofa until I return home. (It may be hours)...sleeps at our feet every night then creeps under the covers when he gets cold. He licks my tears when I am sad.....sleeps on my lap while I'm watching TV....hops and jumps for joy when he hears his leash and runs to the front door for his walk. He is a loyal and loving companion.....Many friends have asked what makes him so special.....I can't explain that "yorkie magic" to them. So much love in such a tiny furry body....Do you know what I mean? Last edited by max's mom; 05-14-2004 at 05:19 PM. Reason: not finished

Definitely! Everyone thinks we're crazy the way we treat Yoda, but he is just so darn loyal and a great companion. I just want him to be happy. I think we do a good job, except for not giving him the "good" food... But there is something about them Yorkies! I think their little personalities just show through so well! That's quite a collection of animals back there. 38! Wow, did you name them all?

Like you, I've had many animals through the years.....ferrets, a skunk named Arpege, various wonderful goats, dogs, cats, a boa, hamsters, etc. You are absolutely right about Yorkies though.....there is something just so special about them! Higgins can be so naughty and then absolutely MELT me with one of his special looks.......I'm a goner.........

Wow, that's crazy. Reminds me of this house about 10 minutes away, with it's own mini-farm. They have a small lake in their yard, with ducks, and all kinds of animals... Must have been quite a workout just to feed them all everyday! We have enough trouble with one Yorkie alone. hahah...

That's a nice neighbor there. That would be cool to have a personal zoo next door, as long as they didn't drive me crazy with all the noise! I know Yoda's converted many a non-animal lover to at least a Yoda-lover. Pretty amazing to see when a little guy can change a person's feelings towards animals. My mom has always been scared of dogs (probably due to a bad childhood incident), but now she always asks about Yoda and knits him sweaters. :P
