| I actually found my puppy on Kijiji. After emailing, and talking with her on the phone I decided to get him. I went to her place. Saw where she kept them. Everything was clean and she only had a two adult dogs there and four puppies. One of which she had just bought to be her stud. I was confident she wasn't running a puppy mill or a being a backyard breeder. I did run into a lot of scams on there, so be careful. Some of those ads WERE too good to be true. Good luck finding your new puppy! |

YT 1000 Club Member | Be careful...I would think that a reputable breeder would not advertise in that site...and there are so many here on YT...why not shop here? Good Luck!

| Before I found YT, I looked on Kijiji and visited several homes. Looking at back at it, they were all backyard breeders who would sell to the first person who handed them cash. Most of them were a bit pushy and expected you to buy their puppy on the spot. Most of the sellers on there also let them go at around 7-8 weeks, which is too soon. So you if must get one from Kijiji, make sure to be very careful, do your research and check everything out.

| Oh, I forgot to add that there was one breeder I found on Kijiji that was actully pretty good. She was letting the puppies go at 12 weeks, had a good health garauntee, had both parents on site and showed me pedigree papers. She also home cooked for her dogs, and you could tell she took good care of them. The only thing that stopped me from buying from her, was that I didn't really feel that "connection" with any of the puppies (she had two of them). When I got my Mocha, I instantly fell in love with him. It's one of those things where you "just know"

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I think as long as you see where the puppies are being raised; at least you will know you have not supported a puppy miller. Some won't want you to go to their home, avoid them at all costs, some BYB's will allow you in their home, but the conditions are so bad you will be tempted to "rescue" one. Please don't purchase a dog from a place like that. Report them to the proper authorities.

| I agree. Please check them out! I went to one place, I felt terrible, but I left the puppy there. She had so many outside kennels and a few different breeds. I had gotten her information out of the newpaper. The breeder I found on KIJIJI, was really nice. I had her work number and home number. She worked for the state. I went to her place. Everything was clean and you could tell they were inside with her the majority of the time. She even took me to her outside kennel and there was only one adult dog in there. It was really clean, as well. The pups and the two adults were all clean, and you could tell they were well taken care of. I did get worried because she was unreachable for almost a week, but found out she'd been away on a small vacation. lol she called me and we talked on the phone. She asked me to please keep in touch with her and let her know how he was doing. |
