| Tragic Mistake I had to share our horrible story so that hopefully it might prevent this from happening to another family. Thursday night my family was eating supper. We had grilled pork chops. My daughter got up from her seat at our table and forgot to push up her chair. Our 10 month old yorkie jumped up on the table and grabbed one of the pork chop bones and started to choke. I immediately called our vet, and he said that she would probably be fine...it might take some time to pass through her stomach and on out. Anyway, we monitored her all night long and she just didn't act right...she was whining and basically never moved all night. We took her to the vet the next morning. They took x-rays discovered that the bone had lodged in her esophagus. We had to immediately leave and drive 2 1/2 hours to the nearest surgery center. The surgeon painted a pretty horrible picture for her (I guess he had to prepare us for the worst) but to our relief, he was able to get it out with a scope instead of having to cut her open. The size of the bone was about the size of a quarter. He said that there was no damage to her esophagus which we are so thankful for. She stayed overnight, and we brought her home this morning. She is truly back to her normal, hyper self! I know for our busy family, it is so hard to think about the small things we must do to keep Boo safe, but I know we will try to be even more aware now. The thought of being without her is unimaginable! |

| Thank goodness Boo is fine. That scared me to death when I started reading. I'm glad all is back to normal. I know what you mean when you say you can't imagine life without her. She's so cute.
