| food issues Well teddy is suppose to be on a bland chicken and rice diet for 2 days while he's sick the only problem is. we tried the vets canned food and teddy reluctantly ate it and threw it up 2 hours later.. after that he wouldn't touch it. So we went and got him some chicken, he loved it ate it that night andthis morning. two horus later(two hours after taking his meds for both days) he threw it up again and now he wants nothing to do with the chicken. I even made it nice and warm for him. It's been 1 1/2 days on it and I'm close to just giving him his regular food because thats what he wants.. he sits at thepantry door patting it with his paw and I point to his dish and he looks at me and goes back to batting the pantry door. I know he has to be hungry he scarfed down the chicken last night. It takes 3-4 hours after his medicine is given to him for him to act like normal teddy so I'm giving him his 2nd dose tonight before bed so he won't suffer too much.. maybe he'll sleep through that dose. any suggestions on getting him to eat. He also hasnt gone potty since 11 he hasn't pooped at all today but they said his medicine that gets rid of his dirreah can cause constitpation and all his meds can cause loss of appetite AND vomiting and they also gave him his bordetella vaccination(which all of you are shocked for that) so I'm guessing all of this at once is being hard on him the only person who is able to really get him to eat is my husband and he always throws up about 30 mins after he goes to work(and cries)(been doing this since his vet visit)

| I had to take my Yorkie in today for diarrhea/vomiting. I tried the rice/chicken and she wanted nothing to do with it. The vet said today that feeding her regular food, in small amounts several times a day should be fine, we want her to eat/drink something so she won't get dehydrated. She is keeping her regular food down so far. Hope your baby feels better soon! |
