| Mitzy (new to YT) Hello, I would like to introduce myself and my baby Mitzy. We come to YT whenever we need a question answered and ya'll are always so helpful. I think its come time for me to finally join in. Mitzy is not a full yorkie but a Morkie (mom was a yorkie and dad was a maltese) She has the yorkie face and build but is all white like a maltese. She's just so cute, as all the babies here are. I did have a question as well. i've been doing lots of reading about yorkie ears and although she's not purebred I would like mitzys ears to stand up.. the only problem is she is now a year old. is it to late for my baby? I know this is a common question but I can't seem to find an answer for when is to late for the ears.. any information is appreciated thank you |

| Hi Welcome to YT. I would say that at a year old it is highly unlikely that her ears will stand up now. I read that if they ar not up by 4 months it is unlikely. I'm sure she's gorgeous just the way she is. Many people don't shave the ears because they prefer the floppy ones. |

| Welcome! I don't know an answer to that question, but I am sure if you asked a breeder on here they could tell you. I am sure your baby is adorable. Do you have pics?

| Welcome to YT! With the ears, the earlier the better is what I hear, but I'm not sure when it is too late - I shaved and taped Scooters when he was 4 months old and they only took 1 day to stand up on their own! My suggestion would be just try it out! Shave them, then tape them and keep the tape on for 2 or 3 days, then take it off for one. Also, massage the ears to get the blood flowing to them, and some people say a little calcium supplement helps too. I would keep taping them for around 3 weeks, and if they haven't improved at all then they probably aren't going to stand up. Keep us updated on your progress!

| Welcome! I too have a Morkie (see picture). He has a Maltese mom and a Yorkie Dad. His ears have been up ever since he was a puppy. His brothers ears (who my neighbor has) went floppy around 5 months and have stayed that way. So, I think Morkies are destined to have the Maltese ears or the Yorkie ears. |
