| Potty pad training I would suggest that you keep her confined to a much smaller area like an expen with a space for her bed, food/water and keep pads under everything until you notice she sort of starts to use one area. She will start to pick out her "bathroom" and you can gradually pick up all the pads except one. Until she starts to get the idea, I would not let her have run of the house and wouldn't take my eyes off of her while she is out of her expen. Sounds like she really doesn't understand what she needs to do so you will need to take it back to basics and limit her options. She will naturally want to keep her bed clean and if the space is small enough she will determine an area wear she will prefer to do her business. These little guys can take a long time to become reliable with their housebreaking. It is going to take a lot of patience and effort. Have you checked out the training forum. There is a lot of good potty advice on there. Just remember the best and easiest way is to work with her own natural instincts to keep her den clean. That is why confining her will help. She will eventually respect your house as her den, but right now with her so small and your house so big it is just like one big potty to her. You want to limit her choices to bed, food or potty. She won't poop where she sleeps and eats for long. Hope this helps. Good luck and hang in there. Most of mine took months before they really had the hang of it.

| I think I would start completely over and you have to watch her 24/7. I just got Bella and she is doing soooo wonderful. I keep her in a crate at night, just big enough for her to turn around. She holds it all night and in the morning I take to her pee pad and i stand there and say go potty. If she steps off, I put her back on and say go potty and she is go in circles, and then potty. I praise her like crazy when she is done and give her a cherrio. After she has peed, I know she is good for a while. So I leave her out and play really hard for about 1 hr. I take her back to her pad and do the same rountine. If she won't potty, she goes back in her crate for about 30 minutes. She doesnt whine, cause she is so tired and to sleep her goes. I wait for her to wake up and when I see her stiring around in her crate I get her out. and do the same process thru out the day. In the morning she will poo on the pad too, then around 5ish and before bed she does. Get is getting to the point if she has to potty when she is out she will run over and do it. The biggest thing I had was I had to put two pad together to make it bigger, cause a few times she would be on the pad, turn and put her butt off of it, lol since I've starting using two its been great. She is doing sooo wonderful I also take her to work with me so I think that helps. Never let them just have free run. It will never work. Good Luck!! |

| Reward her for good behavior, but never punish a yorkie. Give her a little treat as a reward. Show her how excited you are when she does it in the right place.
