| How many nails do they have on there front paw? My mom just found out today that her Yorkie has 5 nails on one paw and 4 on the other. I find that really strange or is that normal? Maybe she's deformed that way? Maybe thats why she only cost me 550.00? |

| Alot of yorkie pups are born with front dew claws (the fifth toe). Most breeders have them removed. Some pups have them on the rear feet also. My guess is that the breeder didn't have the dew claw removed... or it grew back!! I don't think the price had to do with the dew claw.......

Donating YT 10K Club Member | The dew claws are located about what you would call the ankle. Not on their paws. If she has 5 claws and/or a extra toe...she's special. Dogs have 4 toes on each paw each with 1 claw.

| biggest thing is it is safer for the dog not to have them because they have a less likely chance of getting them caught in the carpet, bedding ,,etc....My Smokey's have grown back a little but not enough as to cause trouble

| Sunshine has 4 on one and 5 on the other on the front. One of her dewclaws was a partial amputation, grew back and it grows a "gimpy" nail.

If your baby's dew claws are flimsy, I'd definitely have them removed. It's better to be safe. Imagine down the line that they were ripped off. Your baby would be in so much pain and the surgery would be much more serious. Talk to your vet and see what they suggest.
