YT Addict | People Make Me Mad I was talking to a lady yesterday that is what would call a backyard breeder. She breeds puppies out of her house an sells them for money. She told me that my Bruno must not be a fullblood yorkie is someone just gave him to me. The lady that I got him from simply just could not take care of him anymore. She wanted him with someone who would love him as much as she did eve if she just had to give him away. The lady I spoke to yesterday acted like the only reason someone would do that is to "get rid of a mutt". OK, I have Brunos papers and know of his parents. I guess some people just think they are better cause they get away with selling their dogs for $600 each.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | She may be upset that you didn't buy one of her pups, and just wants to make you feel bad. There are lots of unhappy people out there who only want others to feel as bad as they do. Bruno's a cutie and I'm glad he's found a good home with a loving mama. I don't feel that one dog is better than another, whether it's the show champion or a mixed breed, but I do feel that some breeders are better than others.

| Sorry. I'm glad you are enjoying your new furbaby. I paid a good bit for Maximus, and he gets the same comments merely b/c he kept growing. I love my Maxipoo to pieces though.

| Some people are just rude and condescending and think they know everything about the yorkie breed well some people may know ALOT but they dont know everything...there is always so much more to learn about this wonderful breed. Some people will come up too me and ask if my yorkie is a teacup and when I tell them there is no such thing they proceed to give me this long winded speel about how they were told what a teacup was and then I politely take my leave and pretty walk off on them......sometimes you just have to shake your head and walk away b/c its wasted breath

| What she said was not kind, but could she have been trying to warn you? I know that sometimes I say (write) things with a good heart trying to help people out, and they are taken the wrong way. I don't always know the best way to put things, so that the meaning and intent are clear. I many times speak before I think. You are very lucky to be able to get your baby for free. Not many people would be willing to give away a dog. People always want to know what is in it for them. Even the kids at school, when I ask them to do something (take a note to the office, pass papers out, etc.) have asked, "What will I get?" or "Can I have _____ for doing it?" |

| I get the same thing about Peanut. He is full Yorkie, but he's a big guy (8+ pounds) and I got him for free. The lady who gave him to me received him as a gift to her and her daughter (from a good friend of mine), but didn't have the money to pay for fees to keep him in the apartment. She was at risk of being evicted for having him and needed to get rid of him THAT DAY. My friend, the purchaser, called and said, "I know you want a small dog, and ________ needs to get rid of the baby I bought her. Would you take him from her for me, please?" I've been in love every since, lol...

| I've had three yorkies, two I didn't pay a penny for and one we bought from a breeder. The two that were free of charge, are/were excellent little dogs! They are/were my babies just the same as Abby, the one we paid for. As a matter of fact, Peanut was found in a cornfield and as far as I'm concerned, there's never been a better dog. Here's to FREE YORKIES I agree with Nancy, she's probably upset that you didn't buy a puppy from her. Bruno is such a sweet looking little guy! Congrats!!
