| My Yorkie has short hair I got her from a breeder, I saw her parents, their papers and her litter mates. She is not registered as the breeder was only selling them as pets and not breeding stock. All of the rest of the litter had the thicker longer curly hair (8 weeks) and she had more silver straight hair. Her hair is approximately 3 inches long and courser rather than fine. She has all of the characteristics, except the hair thing. (she also does not grow long hair on her ears). Any one ever heard of this??? |

| My Annie was somewhat like this. Although her coat was silky, soft and grew. The hair on the top of her head and ears never grew. It was the oddest thing, but just another one of her unique features. Here's a picture of her, the hair on the top of her head and her ears never got any longer then this.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Hi, welcome to Yorkietalk. You can register pets that are edible for registering even if they are not to be used for breeding; it's called limited registration. Your breeder may not be eligible to register the litter because his dogs had limit registration. Many will show the parents papers, but if you check carefully you will find that one or both of the parents weren't allowed to breed. The breeder will sell you some line about since you aren't going to show or breed, no need to register. That's why it's important to register; it helps keeps the breeders honest. It sounds like none of the coats on the puppies are within standard, and in all probability one or both of the parents should not be bred. Yorkies are supposed to have straight blackish metallic silky hair, but this isn't seen until adulthood. Puppy's hair usually looks black, and depending how long, could have a wave to it, but shouldn't look curly at all. I didn't get Joey until 12 weeks, which is the minimum that YTCA recommends for puppies being taken home, this is another indication that the breeder isn't following recommended practices. That said, most of us don't have dogs that can completely match standards, but we love them anyway, but I try to encourage others to buy from breeders who only breed those dogs that are standard range.

| nope easier.. all you need photobucket for is an image link address that won't disappear unless you delete the photo from your account. and you can use the image direct link code(that is the 2nd one they give you when viewing all photos) in HTML. I just use it as a back up for photos along with external hard drives but it helps me post images for people who don't have myspace or facebook since I don't use firefox I can't copy an image location anymore so I do this method instead. I can take screen shots of how to do it exactly and post them on here if you'd like.
