| He really does work in mysterious ways! This is so weird~ maybe just b/c I've never had to deal with it before. But I was so worried about what this morning would be like, knowing the dogs would be expecting to be fed as soon as they woke up, and I can't feed Madison b/c he's getting neutered today. Well. last night, before I went to bed (and I'm not an overtly religious person), I just said a little prayer that I would be able to deal rationally with the morning events. This morning, as usual, the dogs got up at 5, I tried to keep them in bed (for ONCE, Madison was actually still lying next to my pillow with his head on my shoulder and it was MAX who got everybody up. And of course, once up, Madison is OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF........but the great thing was, he always wants to run outside for a minute or two as soon as we get up, so I usually open up the bedroom slider for whoever wants to go out, and then go to the kitchen to fix their food......Max wouldn't go out and followed me into the kitchen, and I realized he was there, and Madison wasn't! Normally they get canned food in the morning, but I figured~ this is an EMERGENCY! And I quick, got some of their kibble, threw it into a bowl for Max and started to go make sure Madison didn't come running in......Max was standing there staring at me like "excuse me, but I think there's been an error made here", I told him "Hurry up and just eat it", LOL. I headed Madison off at the hallway, picked him up and then brushed him for a bit and then came into the office. Now, sans food, he is lying right next to me on one side and Max on the other. What a litte angel he is! Of course, it's only a quarter to seven and we won't leave here until 8:20, but at least things are looking calm at the moment. Wish us luck

| Update~ Thanks everyone for their well wishes! I picked up Madison at 4 PM and he's doing GREAT! They gave him some morphine for pain instead of the usual NSAID b/c of his tummy problem, and they were so sweet, one of the techs said they tried to brush some of the mats out of his hind end where it got messed up while they were doing the surgery. He's already RUN outside to pee, and has run from one room to the other a couple of times when Max heard something and ran. He's still slightly unsteady....mainly his behind, LOL, but other than that, he's just taking it easy (in my lap at the moment, but we're going to go relax in the family room shortly and he'll lie down on the big bed I have for him on his new blankey. They didn't even give him any antibiotics; they said he wouldn't need them, and no collar either! I thought he'd be ok b/c he was kind of just resting, but then I saw him licking (it might not have been the incision site, but I don't want to take any chances) so on went a "onesie", and he's happy as a clam. He doesn't even have any external sutures~ they use a skin bond to close it up and you can hardly even tell! Well, other than he's got a little droopy sac back there, but I imagine that will contract eventually. I am SO HAPPY it's over!!! He does not seem to be the least bit uncomfortable at this point. Thanks so much again you all, it made it bearable!
