She keeps biting me! I have a 11 1/2 week old pup and she keeps biting and growling at me! How do I get her to stop biting?? I've tried giving her a toy but after a little while she'll bite my hand again. She doesn't bite hard, but its getting so annoying!

Yelp & squeal when she does it. She's really just trying her strength, like she did with her litter mates, but you need to check it now before it gets out of hand. For now it's just play & if she thinks she's hurt you she will stop, pobably looking surprised. So really yelp loud & make a big fuss about it to show it hurts more than it probably actually did. She just needs to learn that human skin is more tender than puppies coated in hair.

I agree with Meggie. Yelp and get up and walk away. Don't give her a toy in replacement.. you are just rewarding her biting. She'll upderstand that the yelping means it hurt and if you walk away she'll understand you dont' want to "play like that" anymore

Thanks! I'll try that. When I do yelp she thinks its fun and bite me more and growl at me, so I'll have to walk away and see if she gets any better.

I'm having the same issue with Cassiopia, she's now a little over 5 months and continues to bite my hand. I've tried the yelping and she'll stop but then will restart again later. Often times I have to say "no" with a very firm tone for her to stop. At least with me, the biting is not that bad...but she really likes to bite my husband's hand and also any else hands. I need to stop this now before it becomes a habit.
