| Thinking about taking him on a trip for the first time... What are the typical fees you encounter for having a pet in a hotel?? Are there any chains that are favorable to those with pets? I'm going to a family reunion in a month or so, and I am contemplating taking him with us, but since I've never travelled with him before I just don't know these things. In the past, I've always boarded, and I will probably continue to do so, but I thought maybe having him with me will help dull the pain of being around all those family members. Plus, I've already had to board him for 3 weeks this year, so I thought it'd be a good idea to try not to do it this time. |

| I know the holiday inn express allows dogs. I am not sure if they all do, but the one my aunt works for does. Sorry I don't know how much it costs though. You can always try sneaking them in too..If yours is well behaved and wont bark or anything...

| I know Motel 8 lets them in and the last time, it was about $8.00. Motel six lets them in also. Check the net for where you are going, and you can find out if they are pet friendly or not. Pat |

| If you go on the hotel's website it will list their fees. If you look at Travelocity or Expedia you can specify only pet allowed hotels and it will bring up all the hotels that allow pets!! Have fun!!

| sigh....I hate to sound prissy, but I hate staying in cheaper chains. I'm used to Westins, Hyatts, Hiltons and hotels like that. Pretty much none of them accept pets. I just don't know if I could bring myself to check into something like a Super 8 without getting the willies. |

| Google pet friendly hotels in the town/city you plan on being in. Then you can read up on their deposit policy's and choose from there. |

| We bring our Yorkie with us, if possible, all of the time. In fact, we miss him if he is not with us. For weekend vacations, etc., we check in our Automobile Club book. If you are a member they will send you a national book of hotels that take pets. For your reunion, go online to the town you are visiting and checkout the hotels listed. They usually state whether or not they take pets. If you pup is crate trained, you will have no problem. When you leave him alone in the room, put a light towel or sheet over the crate. This should help him stay feeling safe and quiet. Have a great trip! Get ready for all of the attention you will receive from everyone who sees your Yorkie while traveling! |

| I'm sorry I can't answer your question. Just wanted to add that I love " Hampton Inns".

| Does your dog bark? Because I've taken Teddi to hotels that allow dogs and ones that don't and the ones that don't have never known she was there. I just don't leave her in the room at the hotels where they don't allow dogs. We are going to the Holiday Inn in KC next and then in July to a hotel in Portland that takes dogs and then in October to the W in San Francisco that takes dogs as well. She will be well traveled.

Check the floor for any thing they could get into. Our room was clean but I worried there was a safety pin or some sort of food left behind the maids over looked. I left a do not disturb sign on the room if I had to leave Chewy for any reason. I didn't want any one in the room with my dog. I also brought a cage to keep him in. When he was barking a lot I could calm him down by putting him in there. He didn't eat much while we were there so bring food you know your dog loves...
