| Hmmmm, I guess that could be directed at me because I posted my concerns. I would apologize but I don't feel that I did anything wrong... |

Going out of one's way to find out one's personal information (name, location, if one is licensed, and where one graduated from) is simply no one's business, especially if you aren't even interested in a puppy. Assuming that this person is or isn't a puppy mill, do you think if you finding out all this information about this person is going to stop them from breeding puppies? This has nothing to do with education.

| You Must Breed Them A Lot. You must breed them a lot to have a supply of puppies with in each breed if you only have a pair of each breed. I'm sorry, but I'm not as tactful as some. I'm just not buying this whole thing. Too many breeds, too many puppies available and a web page can always look beautiful. And, the designer breeds to boot. Many will take you at face value because you say you are a veterinarian but being a vet does not make you reputable. No offense but smart YT'ers need to ask themselves who signs off on the sick dogs that come from puppy stores, byb'ers and puppy mills? The answer veterinarians. There are good and bad in just like like there are good and bad police and good and bad judges etc. I'm just not buying all this and if I'm quick to judge then I guess that's me. Elaine |

I would like to agree with you first off, about her page. Anybody can do a page like that. The office and I were curious and we did a little research....only finding her name at that university doesnt exist, unless there are some mistakes. I agree with you on many things you posted. I would like to however disagree with you on your information about mixed breeds. Although I believe everybody should spay/neuter their animals, knowledgeable breeders of specific mixed breeds will produce healthier puppies than the litter of a purebred dog. I personally own a goldendoodle. He is soo very smart and very healthy too. The chances of him inheriting a bad trait from two different breeds of dogs are just the same as a purebred offspring recieving a bad trait from 2 purebreds of the same breed. The outcome of a litter has much more to do with genetics and parents, than many people give credit for. It doesnt have anything to do with mixed breed or purebred dogs. Purebred dogs came from mixing breeds. Goldendoodles are supposed to be healthier, smarter, and shed less than golden retrievers. They are two amazing dogs bringing together an even better one. I wouldn't trade my goldendoodle for the world. Many purebred dogs are being put down too. In order to stop all the killing in shelters, people would have to stop breeding completely. It is wrong to point out it is the breeders of these designer dogs. It is all of us. We all have the ability to stop this. I could have chosen to purchase a dog from a shelter or rescue, but instead decided to buy my goldendoodle, and buy my yorkie. I have rescued many animals in the past and they have been just as good of pets and the ones I have now. I do donate and volunteer at the vets office and the shelter. when people breed purebred or mixed breed without a plan or with a motive for money only, is when we get in trouble. People who breed correctly dont actually make much money at all. AKC could stop many of the problems with limiting the number of litter registrations each person can have per year. I am not writing this solely for you, because I only wanted to inform you about the mixed breed vs. purebred knowledge I have, but I am writing this so everybody can read that it isnt just mixed breeds that over populate our country. It is only us that can prevent it. We all help in certain ways. I personally believe everybody should spay/neuter their animals. Also, microchipping is great! People should research more before owning a pet.

| You have got to be aware of the killing of thousands of mixed breed dogs each year. Yes, I am aware of the fact and that is why I adopt as many strays and rescue as I can. I also breed dogs that I believe serve a person and bring happiness to people's life. It is a person's individual choice to buy or adopt. We offer both. We also microchip our dogs and if one was to ever show up in a pound we would know about and we have people sign contracts stating if they can't keep the puppy that we have a right to get the dog back. Which we have done on one occasion whose daughter had severe allergies and we took the puppy back and refunded the money and resold the puppy. That doesn't sound like a mill to me. Thankfully, for the sake of our last nine rescues we adopted (10 puppies dumped on the side of the road) the people decided to adopt them without seeing the puppy in person. We shipped to nine different states. They wanted to give a stray a chance at good life and a good home and they did. So the Humane Society recommendation could have cost these puppies their life but they were adopted instead. I also want to add, I could make a website that says that I'm a vet, that site offers free web space if anyone is interested, and it even tells you how to make a profession looking page. Do not believe everything that you read on the Web.[/QUOTE] Yes, you could make a website and say your a vet but you would be lying if you did so whereas I am not. I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1996, Oklahoma liscense # 3766 You can view it at www.sandcreekpets.com/veterinaryliscense.html And yes, I also agree do not believe everything you read on the Web. Good practical common sense information that it never hurts to be reminded of. Again, I only joined this site to try to be a help with any veterinary questions and to advertise healthy well socialized Yorkie puppies and hopefully find good qualified potential buyers. Anything other than that I will no longer reply to. I beleive I have explained my situation adequately and everyone is free to believe what they want. I want to thank everyone for their replies and welcomes. I am still researching the cat hair loss question posted earlier. Professionally, Laura Morphis DVM |

It actually is our business, especially if people start taking the advise, and posting that advise on other threads. The education that I was referring to is the advise given by the Humane Society, don't buy a pet from a pet store or a web site. People have become very aware of the "Pet Store" issue and this had made puppy mill brokers go directly to Web selling.

| I work at a vets office and we all love to get on here. We knew it was suspicious and only wanted to warn people. Actually it took no time at all to find all the information we did on the lady, but if it took me ALL DAY, saving 1 person from buying a dog from a scammer would do it justice.

| I just wanted to add that no reputable breeder would use free online advertisement sites: All Laura Morphis DVM's ads. Member #15351. Puppies for Sale, Dogs for Sale Grover Vet raised ~ 4 lb grown Sandcreek Pets I'm disappointed to see this, Oklahoma has so many puppy mills as it is.
