| Does your baby boy lift is leg when he pees? Hi everyone! I was wondering at what age did your baby boy start lifting it's leg when it pees? Simba is almost six months, and just kind of squats when he pees on his pee pad. He is not crate trained so he has not tried peeing outside yet. If he doesn't see other male dogs pee, will he still have the instincts to do that? Please share. Thanks in advance! |

| Chipper was about a year, and Snowboy has just started lifting his leg. He turns one next month. Don't know if that is normal or not. I know that there are a lot of male dogs that never lift their leg. Wonder what gets them started? Read once that they'll never start if they don't have something to lift their leg on. Turned out to not be true for Chipper. He'd find a blade of grass that was sticking up higher than the rest and use it.

| If they are fixed before they start lifting their legs then they never will. Diesel started when he was 7 months. I also never fixed him so my baby still lifts his leg! LOL

| Chipper was neutered at 5 mo. and didn't start to lift his leg until he was 1 yr. old. Snowboy was neutered at 3 mo., is now almost a yr. and has just started showing signs of lifting his leg. Guess that rule probably holds true most of the time but I wasn't lucky enough to have furbabies that knew the rule.

| I got my little Paxton when he was 4 1/2 months old....I had only had him a couple days when I was in the kitchen cooking dinner for my family. I looked down and that little stinker was hiking his leg on my kitchen cabinet! I about died....I had no clue they could do that so young!!!! Funny thing my 5 year old Wire Hair Fox Terrier still squats like a girll!!! I took all three of my dogs for a walk yesterday and Paxton hiked on everything like a pro! He just turned 6 months and it is time for him to be neutered! OUCH!!!!!

| Jake started lifting his leg really early. I think he was only about 3 mos. old. Jackson has been lifting his leg since I got him at 10 weeks.

| Here's my lifting leg stories. Both boys were neutered by 6 mos. Reggie (age 11) lifts his leg outside only. Coby (1 year) tried twice last year in the park. The first time, he lost his balance and fell into the tree. The second time, he fell away from the tree. "Enough of that!" he said. A week ago, both boys were out in the front yard. Reggie was peeing on his favorite bush with an impressive leg raise. Coby was about 15 feet away in the middle of the yard, with nothing sticking up anywhere near him. He was STUDYING Reggie as he peed and then s-l-o-w-l-y lifted his leg to practice right there in the middle of the yard! It looked so funny. Next day we went to the park and he thought he'd try his new skill out again on the tree. This time, he hit his leg on the tree as he was lifting it. I told Coby REAL BOYS squat to pee.

| OK now I am going to blow the theory out of the water.... Sunnie is 4 years old. He has lifted his leg since he was 8 months old. He was nuetered a year ago.. Beamer is a little over a year old. He was nuetered at 6 months.. He has never lifted his leg. He watches Sunnie all the time and is showing no signs that he is considering lifting his leg....... Now I have 4 girls and they ALL lift thier right leg as they squat to pee. lol
