| So impressed with Petco! I was shopping at Target today and decided I'd stop by the Petco that was right next door. I usually go to Petsmart, because it's closer. Well I was floored when I walked in the door! It was so nice, clean, and professional looking. It didn't smell as much as Petsmart does, and their selection of EVERYTHING was bigger and better - clothes, beds, toys, food.. I mean everything. I think it was a little bit more expensive, but that's to be expected. The thing that really got me, though.. was when I look around the food area, they carried some really high quality food. Of course there was the usual junk, but then I saw Avoderm, Natural Balance, Solid Gold, and some other premium foods. I also saw that they carried Cloud Star products! No more ordering online. I was really impressed. I guess I'm just surprised because I've never been to Petco before. Are they all like this?

| I don't know that they're all that nice, but I do prefer petco to petsmart. They DO have a much better selection.

| Our Petco is small and they don't have the selection that the Petsmart does. Guess it's different from town to town. |

| I really think it comes down to how new each store is & how big the building is, as far as the number of products carried. I would say the Petco & Petsmart stores nearest me are about the same in accordance to cleanliness. The products range between the stores. Neither carry the food I feed, Innova, but a locally owned store does - all the better, but I don't buy a lot of other things at the local store because their prices are sometimes high - but they also make space for cats & dogs from the local rescue. I think Petco started carrying some of the Cloud Star line about 6 mths ago, but I have several options for that line -- my holistic vet has carried it for several yrs, that's where I was introduced to the products, plus 2 local pet stores carry it & so Petco is usually my last choice. I'm big on supporting the small local business person What I hate is having to hunt at more than one store for the item I most want.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | That's funny because our Petco really stinks. They sell fish and you can always see dead fish floating in their tanks. I haven't been there for a while because of this. It probably varies by location.

| Our petco always seems dirty and the people are not very friendly-at all! the last time (Easter Sunday) I was thereto buy a carseat (which, by the way, they only carry on-line), I told hubby that I really never think about going there and I am always in that shopping center. I always drive 5 minutes down the road to petsmart.
