| silkies are a completly diffrent breed. the silkie is a mix of the austrailan terrier and the yorkie terrier. Still cute, but not a yorkie. the muzzles are longer and the ears are set further on the side of the head. I'm not sure if you can backout. did you put down a deposit?? if you did you will prob loose it.

| It's not about the color of her coat...I really like her color, but her head and body are not a yorkie.. I read tonite that silkies are an entire different breed according to AKC ...I'm really disappointed... I really want a yorkie and my husband met this lady just this week and paid the small amount for the pup and after I saw her mom I just know she is not a yorkie but a silkie. '' I have really been waiting for a yorkie and I think this was impulsive on my part so please be kind. I feel horrible that this has happened. But I probably will back out even if i lose a deposit because I dont want a silkie,,,I want a yorkie. I hope that doesn't sound spoiled...I just had my heart set. |

| She looks like a Yorkie to me. Very pet quality though. Did you see if she has registration papers? Sorry, I am a little confused. Are you buying the dig in the picture of her puppy? Did you see the sire of the pup? |

| The dog in the pic is the mother and there are not papers for this litter. The dad was not the breeders so I could not see him. I just know this mom is a silkie. Every pic I see of silkies has that long nose. Not the baby doll face of the yorkie. My husband knew I wanted a yorkie and the pup was pretty inexpensive and kind of an impulsive decision, however I have been wanting another dog for quite a while so I feel just horrible that this is turning out this way. Thanks guys for your suggestions. |

| Most are going to tell you that dog is a yorkie (and a cute one with a nice silky coat) and not a silky. They have a very distinct, different look. |

| I have seen many yorkies with longer noses and they were registered yorkies, not silkies. They were definately pet quality. This dog in the pictue does not look like a silky. |

| OKay....Ill tell you the story. I have been beggin my husband for another dog for quite a while esp. a yorkie and he said "Let's wait" I had just brought the subject up again one morning when he pulls up at a Bojangles chicken place with our golden in the backseat...(small town too) and the lady at the window says "Nice Dog and by the way I raise dogs" My husband proceeds to say "What kind" and she said "Oh small yorkies" HA! He proceeded to say "I better call my wife" So of course I jumped on it, a little impulsively I might add. I really thought God was setting me up. But I didn't get a good look at mom and when I read on this site about silkies and yorkies I really thought I goofed. i dont mean to sound spoiled but I really do want a baby doll faced yorkie. Oh and by the way this is the sweetest little old lady you could ever meet. I know she would probably give me my money back. I just feel like such an idiot. You guys are really helping me sort this out. Thanks! Keep talking Last edited by frodo1; 03-22-2008 at 10:38 PM. |

| getting a pup is kinda like getting a tattoo, if you are not sure than don't. there are plenty of breeders here that can give you a pedigree for the dam and sire. don't feel bad. my husband fell in love with pepper first and had to talk me into her. actually he just went ahead and bought her and let her lick my nose while sleeping, my first yorkie kiss. I had tons of reasons why we didn't need another dog and they flew out the window with that first lick. We got lucky, you will find yours out there. be patient
