| Odie playing with his food Just recently Odie decided that he wants to be spoon fed to start eating any of his meals. He will dance around his food, bark at it.. then he will sniff it and walk away I know he is hungry but he just keeps doing the dance and barking..lol it is really funny to watch. I have tried to introduce his new crunchie kibble but he won't do that either. He wants to be hand fed.. Any tips/ ideas out there??? I don't want him to take sick because of his new eating habits

| that sounds cute how old is odie? gino did the same thing for a while...he would only eat his kibble if you hand fed it to him one piece at a time lol ... we finally realized we needed to stop because we were teaching him bad habits...if we would have continued to feed him this way, he would have learned this was "okay" and would expect it all the time ... we just realized we needed to set the bowl down and ignore his sad face ... once he realized we were not going to hand feed him, all of the sudden he remembered how to eat on his own lol i think if your furkid is older, you can afford to let him "wait it out" ... he will eat when he is hungry now for a puppy it is a little bit different because they need to eat more regularly ... not sure what to do in that case

| Cooper doesn't eat well either so we started feeding him also. I have changed food about 4 times and he just turned his nose up and would not eat it so this time I bought Royal Canine for Yorkies and he is eating it all the time. I miss feeding him but I just dont have time to sit and do it. We leave it out all the time for him. Just make sure your puppy gets enough and keep nutrical handy. |

Problem is I have a back problem.. waiting for surgery and having to bend down to feed or pick him up is killing me. He must be sensing all this because he doesn't come to me like he was a couple days ago. I know he wants me to play with him because he is constantly pulling my pant legs.. poor baby

| My first baby did that until he was almost 4 months old. We finally got some dog food gravy or mixed in some wet food with it... he started eating on his own. In a way it was cute to hand feed him but after awhile it got old! who has an hour to sit on the kitchen floor hand-feeding a dog?? LOL

| Linus did the same thing when he was little. The breeder told me when I got him that he preferred to eat from a plate! I realized that it's beacuse he doesn't like to stick his face into a bowl of food because his face gets dirty So now, I spread his food out on a plate so he can pick each piece up withing getting too messy! |

Donating YT Addict | My Ozzy is 15 weeks and he still prefers to eat his kibble out of his puppy kong. I now give him 1-2 tsp of wet food in his bowl also to try and get him to eat more but he still wants to drop his kong, pounce on each kibble toss it around then eat it. Jeesh he burns off more calories than he takes in eating! He seems to be doing ok since he finally reached 3lbs. He is better now about picking food from his bowl so I hope he grows out of his Kong habit
