| A nasty little question. ok, what's the best way to say this? sophie has really bad gas. and her poop smells awful. it's probably her food. she's eating food right now that the vet suggested, the name escapes me because i throw the bag away and keep it in a plastic container to keep it fresh. is there different food that can help with this, or am i just going to haev to suck it up (no pun intended there.) and deal with it?? |

| Why is she on prescription food or is it prescription? How about Wellness, Canidae, Natural Balance, Chicken Soup?

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Hmmm....I wish I knew what food it was It probably IS the food that is causing this. Is it something that you BOUGHT from your vet? Or just a food that he suggested that you picked up somewhere else? And if you bought it somewhere else, where did you buy it? It's not Science Diet is it? Not Eukanuba or Royal Canine? Do you remember what the bag looked like or what color it was? Sorry for the 20 ?'s LOL

| Sorry, is she a puppy?? My puppy is 17 weeks tomorrow, I got her a few weeks ago. She was on a crappy food, I mixed the old with the new, better food I wanted to feed her. She had terrible gas, etc. I have switched back to the old food (problem has disappeared) and am making the change much slower now. Do you know what food the breeder had her on?

Also, Milkbone treats...hmmm, have you read the ingredients on the back? I know you are probably new to this stuff just as I was years ago (and I'm STILL learning ) but Milkbone doesn't make the best products unfortunately You might consider looking for a healthier treat with no fillers, artificial ingredients and animal by-products

| I would personally, (since I did), go back to the food the breeder had her on and slowly transition the puppy to the new food. Like I said, my puppies gas/poopy problem has disappeared. She is on now like 60 old/40 new food.

| hmm. no i've never read the ingredients, i just know that my 4 shelties LOVE them, so i thought sophie would too. i should have known that the milkbones wouldn't cause it, because my shelties never have horrible gas. i'm starting to lean towards it being a puppy thing? she's just a gassy baby |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Yikes...I would switch foods if I were you Pro Plan is only a 1 star food and has by-products, corn, etc. There are MUCH better foods out there for your little sweetie

| Hmm, ProPlan and Euk aren't really excellent foods. How about: Canidae (All Life Stages) Chicken Soup (puppy and adult) Wellness Natural Balance
