| Emmy's Story Since I was new to this site, I didnt' quite know how to post. I have two yorkies. Mozart is 10 years old and 10lbs. He is our sweet boy. Emmy is our new addition. She is a 1 year old, 4.5 lb cutie pie. We are in love again! Here is Emmy's Story! Emmy has an interesting story! Emmy was purchased by my 26 year old daughter in NC from a reputable breeder. She was 5 months old and very sweet. My husband, I and our 10 year old yorkie, Mozart were flying up to meet Emmy. My daughter had just had her for 3 weeks. My daughter took her to get groomed for our visit. When she picked her up at the groomers, she had been shaved and was very upset. My daughter said she looked and was acting very different from before the grooming. She thought Emmy had just had a bad experience at the groomers, but she continued to growl and bark more than before. One month later, she took Emmy to get spayed. The vet called to say the puppy had already been spayed, and she was not 6 months but closer to a year old. The only explanation was that she had been switched at the groomers. My daughter was distraught. The groomer was able to find her original puppy who they had given to another customer who they confused with my daughter. This girl was also in her mid twenties and a young professional living in the same area of town. When Emmy came home, she was confused and cried when my daughter left for work. The other girl had another yorkie, and Emmy had gotten used to the company during the day. Some of the neighbors who worked from home at the condo development heard her crying. My daughter decided that Emmy needed more attention and company than she could give her at that point. She brought her to her dad and I where she could have a yard and our yorkie, Mozart for company. We have all fallen in love with Emmy, and we all spoil her to death including Mozart. She also gets to see her other mommy quite often!! |

| Welcome to YT. Wow, that is a strange story. It is amazing that neither your daughter or the other lady knew they had the wrong dog. I am speechless. Lucky for you things worked out the way they did. I would love to see pictures of your babies. |

| That's a crazy story...and kind of scary that they could get switched like that at the groomers! I'm glad it all worked out in the end and that Emmy is a wonderful addition to your family!

| That certainly is a different kind of story. Poor Emmy. I am happy for all of you that the problem was easily solved and she can stay in the family and have a new brother. Post pictures when you can. Welcome to YT. |

| Of all the groomer horror stories I have heard this ranks among the worst. But welcome and give Emma a kiss for me.

| What a story. Your daughter is lucky she got hers back..That is why I am so apprehensive in bringing my yorkie to a groomer. I have heard of another one that is not as lucky. Sorry don't mean to hijack your thread but I think more people need to be aware when they bring their dogs to the groomer. There was a groomer who made a switch on two yorkies and one yorkie was picked up by the husband of the yorkie owner and didn't realize it was a different one. He stop and went shopping on the way home and when he opened the door, the yorkie jumped off from the car (probably his never does it so he didn't expect it to happen..that I don't know) and the yorkie got knocked by a car and died......It was in a YT thread long time ago.
