| The best suggestion I can give you is to check out the pattern books for some simple patterns -- Hancocks is having a sale on Butterick patterns this weekend - $.99 each. Buy some cheap fabric and practice. If you mess up, just thow it away before you get too frustrated and try again..... Good luck -- it is always a GRAND thing to see young people sewing!!!!! |

| I've made some dresses but I buy almost all of Lacy's clothes. I'm not much help...I just kindof taught myself and made my own patterns. A lot of dog dresses are made based off the same pattern. Good Luck

| i'm about to that myself, as i just bought a new pattern. my BEST advice; simplicity patterns. they are the easiest. i have the one (the # escapes me right off) with the dogs dressed up in patriotic, halloween and easter outfits. that was by far the EASIEST pattern. I'm 20, so i think you can do it also; but the remnants at a fabric store. Thats the best way to go. The pattern will always call for more fabric than you need, just keep that in mind here are some dresses i made, my FIRST time attempting |

| Sewing machine is probably the best way to go, unless you are really good at sewing by hand...I think you can get a cheap sewing machine at wal-mart for around $75 or so. I bought a cheapie there for my first machine and have since upgraded to a much more spendy one, but the cheap ones work fine.

| a sewing machine is ideal, i did have to hand stitch my lace on one dress as an after thought and it was tiresome. my machine is a cheap wal mart machine; well it's a brother, but it was very inexpensive. we are currently debating upgrading to an embroidering machine |

| If you are looking for a sewing machine....You could post on your local freecycle??? or even craigslist.... Then if you decide this is something you are going to enjoy...Buy what you would like.... Joyce
