| Leather furniture and Yorkies? I was browsing through the Valentine pictures and noticed not only the adorable babies but alot of leather furniture. My DH and I are thinking of getting leather furniture but we are worried about our Yorkie scratching it by jumping on it or chewing her bully sticks on it How is yours holding up to all the Yorkie antics? Are you happy w/your leather furniture or wish you had something else? |

| I am rather happy with the leather furniture. It cleans very nicely and the only scratches we really ever have had were from the kitties claws.... I love leather furniture. Its warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

| I have a very light colored soft leather sofa, loveseat and chair in my formal living room and I find that it is just fine w/them sitting on and jumping off of it. But I also think because it is very soft and light in color that it is really hard to scratch. My girlfriend has a dark brown leather couch and the leather is much stiffer and it scratches very easily!!!

| Quality leather If you get a quality leather you'd be surprised how durable it is. I have both leather and microfiber and am very happy w/ both! |

| If you get a more natural finish leather instead of a polished hardened surface I think it would be less likely to scratch. I have a deep burgundy that looks brown and I love it. It doesn't scratch, doesn't hold odors and can be easily wiped off. I would never go back to fabric with dogs if I had a choice.

| Thanks for posting this! I am going furniture shopping this weekend and am very happy to see this as I saw a great deal on a leather sectional.

| I've only had my leather sectional for a few months but so far I love it! I have 6 yorkies and I put a blanket down for them when they are laying by me because they so far aren't thrilled with it.. They tried digging on it when I first got it which about gave me a heart attack but no harm done to the couch that I can see.. |

| I love my leather sectional! No hair on the furniture, easy clean up of messes and my dogs nor my cat have scratched the leather at all. I clean and condition it once a month and it looks good as new! I will never go back upholstery again.

| Thank you for asking this question. Just today my husband and I were discussing this. Everything that people have said is what came out in our discussion.

| We have black leather. I love it for the dogs and the kids. Spills clean up easily and there are always plenty of spills. I see no scratches from either my yorkie or my larger collie. |

| We have leather in our family room and Kassie hasnt hurt it in any way. She digs at it too when she wants to be picked up and goes insane on it after a bath.

YT 2000 Club Member | I was so glad to see this question come up! I want to get leather sofa and love seat for our living room but my husband wasn't too sure it would work out with having Jeter now. I did not see what the problem would be.
