| Scared of so much Ok everyone Sam is totally back to normal and when i say totally i mean 100% in every way he is humping Max ever chance he gets and he is back to acting like his scared of everything all the time and shaking over everything he gets excited he shakes he gets scared he shakes i mean over everything he will just be sitting there and i get the treats out and he gets excited and starts shaking He has finally gotten over the noise of the furnace and just looks at it and even barks at it sometimes and he has also gotten past the noise of the washer and drier but he still has the shyness thing going on and not really wanting to be held and loved on he loves his head rubbed but that is about it unless he is tired and then he will let you rub his belly but he is not really affectionate with anyone not like he was this past week is there anything that i can do And just so you all know this is how he was acting before he got hurt so it isn't from the accident i also have a really hard time brushing him he keeps trying to get away from me when he is being brushed but that i can deal with and get him used to my main concern is how do i get him to be more loving and affectionate? and not act so scared all the time?

| He will be 20 weeks this Friday oh i hope he outgrows it because i feel so bad for the little guy. To ride in a car he has to be in a carrier or he jsut freaks out he is okay if we are sitting still but the moment he hears the motor rev up the least little bit he goes nuts unless he is in the carrier But like i said this is how he acted before the accident so i know that is not what caused it

| so glad he is back to 100% miss buffey is shaker too ... i just think she has a more shy personality ... we took her for a walk this weekend (her first one ) and she did great until she started hearing cars ... she started shaking so bad and refused to walk any more so i picked her up and carried her home bentley is not scared of anything and never shakes lol ... i just think it is a personality thing? maybe repeated exposure over time to whatever scares them or makes them shake (with you right by their side so they know they are okay and safe) will help a lot too

| my yorkie was scared of EVERYTHING as a pup. the best thing you can do is introduce him to as many new situations as possible, and take the lead by being confident and calm yourself. try not to comfort him when he's shaking (as hard as it may be) because when you comfort him while he's shaking, you're essentially reinforcing the undesirable behavior with affection. if you play it cool, he'll eventually come around. |

| I have a 10 yr. old that shakes. She's a puppymill doggie and is mentally challenged. My husband always says he feels sorry for her---what must it feel like to always be so afraid? My 11 yr. old came from a nasty home situation and after 9 yrs. still doesn't want to be held unless I force her. On some threads there has been talk of seeing a behavioralist or giving obedience training. Have no idea whether these techniques work. Just things I've heard of. Joanne |
