| Biewer pronunciation video Here is a video of the proper pronunciation of the word Biewer. This was made by member of a Biewer forum I belong to...she lives in Germany and gave her permission to post this. Last edited by my2boyz; 02-01-2008 at 06:52 PM. |

| Good to know. I'm not gonna lie- that video made me LOL because of the number of times she said "biewer."

| Kind of off topic, but are there a lot of people on the Biewer forum? I've been thinking about joining as I love Biewers- although I don't have one.

| LOL That was funny. I have been saying Biewer as (b-you-er) for so long now (even though I know it is pronounced Bevah)....I just don't know if I can say it the German way! LOL Do most American breeders pronounce it the correct way or do they say it the wrong way?

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Thank you for posting this video. I've wondered as I've heard it pronounced several ways, it's nice to know the correct pronunciation.

| Oh nooooo, I have (b-you-er) set in my head and off my lips... (Biva like Diva) sounds like beaver and just feels uncomfortable. I too, would like to know if most pronounce it correctly or if (b-you-er) is American slang and acceptable?

| I still can't tell if it's Biva or Bivar (like beaver). If it's pronounced Bivar, I could never own one and call it that. The word "beaver" has a terrible slang meaning...people would laugh themselves sick if I told them I had a beaver dog. |

| Bee - vair! It's like 'bee - vair' not 'bee - ver'. Biewer! I would never have figured that pronunciation out if I hadn't looked it up, lol. No one around here has heard of a Biewer Terrier, so when I try to explain it, I get a lot of blank stares, ... Especially when I say it like bee - vair. "HUH?" "WHAT IS THAT?" I just end up saying, "It's a variance of the Yorkshire Terrier. You know, ... Yorkie." Theeen they semi - understand. If that doesn't work, I have to revert to, "It's like a Yorkshire Terrier, but it has a lot of white in its coat and then patches of color." -shrugs- Is that politically correct? Probably not, but it works.
