Oh, gosh, please don't get a puppy from there or it could break your daughter's heart. With the number of breeds they are selling (I love the way they describe themselves as a small kennel ), they are either a puppymill or a broker for the mills. Puppy shopping on your computer really isn't a good idea. Lots of times the puppies you see on Puppyfind are stolen pictures and the breeders do a "bait and switch" after you give them money. Find a reputable breeder first, then choose a puppy. I don't know how old your daughter is, but please try to explain that it is never a good idea to "save" a puppy from a pet shop or puppy mill. By putting money in their pockets, you will only guarantee that many more poor dogs will suffer to keep producing more puppies.

| that's a hard one. I know she is just in love with that puppy, but I promise, she will be in love with any puppy that you get her can you find another yorkie pup...that maybe looks similar? I just hate to support puppy mills like that. I am sure she will fall in love with her new puppy....especially if you get one from a reputable place...that you know for sure is healthy and all. another thing to tell her,...more often than not, when you get a puppy from a puppy mill or a place where the puppy has lived in a cage it's whole life, they are really hard to potty train. she will end up getting very frustrated and angry if she has such a hard time potty training a puppy. not to say that one from a reputable breeder will be "easy" but you have a MUCH higher chance of training the puppy easier and quicker if you do NOT buy from a puppy mill. Just another thing to think about. I got maggie from a place where she was raised in the house with a family and she was potty trained VERY easily. it is so hard to not fall for that baby and give him a good home. I totally understand that. but you really just CANNOT support these places.

See Thats how im feeling.. I do not want to support a puppy mill in any way shape or form.. Laura is my girlfriend .. She understands now what a puppy mill is when she first saw Jack she had no clue.. And she really isn't the type of person who just falls in love with animals at first glance and for her to do that has a huge inpact on me ... I'm so lost.. I wish she was my child then i swear i found her Jack from a good breeder

I have to agree with pepe mint and Ladymom! Don't take the chance. I don't think a little white lie would hurt in this case, I would tell your daughter that someone else got that puppy, but you'll find her an even better one that she can pick out herself, and then do it. That site was just too cute, if you know what I mean.

The thing about puppymills is that they don't care WHY you buy the dog...they don't care if you feel you are "rescueing" it, don't care if you don't know any better, don't care period really...all they care about is getting rid of that puppy and making money off of it. Buying a dog from a puppymill will only allow the breeder to continue mass producing dogs because they are making money. If you really want to rescue this baby, don't go buy it - report the mill to the authorities so it can be checked out and hopefully shut down. All puppies are cute...I'm sure if your girlfriend sees another puppy, she'll fall in love with it too. Yorkie puppies kindof all look similar at that age. I suggest checking out www.ytca.org and start searching there for a breeder. There is also a breeder in Oklahoma called Tsa La Gi that I keep hearing great things about. her website is www.yorkieshowdogs.com and I know she has some puppies available at this time

I agree with MIZZROSA! Maybe it was meant to be. All puppies need a good home. Sometimes it is just love at first sight! It doesn't mean that you agree with what they do, but at least one of their pups will have a good home.

Don't be fooled by a health certificate. They are usually only good for a certain period of time and if he were to have a serious illness right away, most require you to return them for an exchange like a pair of shoes. Unfortunately with poorly bred dogs, it may be years before their "genetic time bombs" start going off. My Lady is a perfect example. She is a rescue was was pronounced perfectly healthy by my vet when I adopted her at age four. Shortly afterwards her genetic time bombs started going off. She now has diabetes, epilepsy, arthritis, allergies, hypothyroidism and now Cushings. All are probably inherited except her Cushings which was caused by taking steriods for her arthritis. I spend close to $5,000 a year on Lady's medications and vet bills to monitor her conditions. If you are a good friend, don't even take the chance of passing that kind of financial obligation on to her.
