Donating YT 11K Club Member | I almost had a heart attack! So my bf came home and rang the bell cause he didn't have the keys. I was on the couch with Sophie and London. Sophie always barks when she hears the doorbell and goes running to the door. And even though she is little she jumps off and on the couch like nothing. Well this time when it rang she jumped off the couch so fast and i think landed on her face, she starts screaming like crazy! I didn't see her land but the way she was screaming i thought she broke a leg or something. I was shaking so much and panicing but i quickly picked her up, ran to get honey and gave her some right away. I yelled thru the intercom for my bf to run up the stairs cause she fell, ppl downstairs must have thought i was crazy lol So he was at the door and i had to run with her while shushing her and rubbing her. She was fine, didn't break anything but when i checked her gums they were WHITE! So i gave her the honey and like 2 treats and also water and she ate it all. She actually was very excited that my bf was here and was back to normal in like a minute. But OMG this girl can scream! Like if someone is attacking her. Now her gums are really pink and all is well. But i did almost have a heart attack lol You just always have to be prepared for anything to happen whew!

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Glad she is doing better. Some of our babies are kind of softies....so they do tend to cry a bit easy. Lulu was a softie. Anything made her scream...lol.

Donating YT 11K Club Member | Aww Teddy is a softy too, Sophie and him and it's so funny cause Teddy is the biggest but he will scream like no other! London on the other hand won't make a peep, one time she fell out my stepmom's hands onto concrete and she didn't make a sound and i thought she died on the spot! she was like 4 months old i think. She is the bravest of them all in my opinion lol

Senior Yorkie Talker | Quick question... what was the purpose of the honey? What do the white gums mean? I'm new to my yorkie (about 1 week) and still learning.

| OMG- I accidentally 'fumbled' Purl 6 inches or so off the ground yesterday and the squealing that came out of that little thing!! I think my heart stopped, but it must not have because I swooped in and grabbed her so quick. She eventually calmed down, but I think she was just terrified! And my other two looked at her like she was an alien |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | Honey is to raise the blood sugar levels. When they get frightened or scared i think their blood sugar levels go down so the honey is like a pick me up for them. White gums is a bad sign, their gums should always be pinkish/dark pink. I think when they are white it means that their blood sugar dropped a lot, someone else maybe can correct me if i am wrong, i am not too sure. If their blood is low they can have a hypoglycemia attack, etc. You should get nutrical for you new pup. I just used honey cause i don't have nutrical around.

| White gums are indicative of shock (hypotension), blood loss or anemia. It is a medical emergency.
