How do you pronounce... ....the word Biewer? I guess this is a silly question, I have been saying it in my head all this time reading about them, and then today thought, 'you know, I don't even really know if I'm saying it right!!'

Thank you so much! Unfortunately, I WAS saying it wrong in my head....now I must try to remember to correct myself so that when I say it in actual conversation I won't mess it up. Somehow "Beaver" just doesn't sound as wonderful as they way I was saying it.

Don't feel silly- it's a new word for most of us and it gets asked all of the time. I think most of us thought it was beewer or something like at first.

| Right. That would make sense as it's German.

Actually, even though it is pronounced Beaver, the ones here in the US, I call bewers, as it sounds nicer...When I go talking about my little beaver, well, people look at you kind of strange..My hubby said, we don't live in Germany, so pronounce it like you would here in the states..so, that's what I do..

This is also how I was pronouncing it. This thread makes me feel much better....thanks to all. About any Biewer breeders--when you pronounce it correctly, do people know what you're talking about? Or do you alter the pronunciation?
