| doggie panties Need some ideas please. My little rescue Chihuahua, Kozanna, is doing fine, but has no potty manners, of course. She weighs not quite 4 pounds. I got her some panties and they fit her OK, but won't stay on. They slide right off! She is pretty slick with short hair and although the panties fit her, they don't have anything to keep them in place. Her hips aren't any bigger than the rest of her. Any suggestions? I've thought about trying to make her some panties out of a sock. I have a pattern for making a sweater out of a sock, but not panties. Might use a tube sock and use the toe to cover her bottom and cut holes for all 4 legs and turn the top down for a crew neck. She doesn't need any opening for her tail (she doesn't have a tail) and she needs complete bottom coverage for peepee and poopoo. If she gets scared, she might poopoo as well as pee. She's curled up on the couch right now, wrapped in her blanket and snuggled down in a big, soft throw. She got a snazzy new pink sweater for Christmas and some new toys. |

| I am not a fan of doggie panties For Haruka, she hates to be dirty.. so when she has poop hanging her hair (doesn't have that often) she hides.. and feels so bad... So I don't know if dogs would be comfortable with that. I would rather have the small playpen. WHen I was training her, I had shower curtain underneath of playpen. (so you don't ruin carpet or hardwood floor). Then I put one peepad. I try to train her that way. If she made a mistake, I was able to correct her. That was the way she learned. I would avoid those panties stuff.. it is just my opinon. I know it requires a lot of patience. Good Luck!

| I don't know if it will work for your little girl, but it works great for my boy. Buy Premmie Baby Diapers, cut a hole for the tail and fasten with the tabs. Good luck! |

| They have disposable puppy diapers now. I would rather housetrain her very intensely, though.

Kozanna doesn't know what correction or praise is just yet. Intense potty training is out at this point. I can't pick her up and put her on a pee pad or anything like that. She is too afraid. She needs more time just to relax in her new home. Can't correct her when she doesn't understand love and praise yet. I can't let her run around with my Bichons because she will pee and poo everywhere. Without protection, she will have to stay in the kitchen or in her crate. She has plenty of room in the kitchen to run and play, but I would like for her to be loose with my Bichons to learn the ways of the household. Kozanna doesn't give any warning that she is going to pee or poo, she just does it. I would imagine that comes from living in a tiny cage all of her 9 months of life. Since she lived in her own pee and poo all her life, I doubt if she has any feelings about staying clean. That may change or it may not. I hope so, but for now, I need another plan. | |

| I have gotten 3 diapers from Des at mygofetch.com. She is a member here and makes great stuff that will surely fit your baby. They are how we really potty trained Bella. She didn't like going in them, so when we took the diaper off, she knew it was time to go. Worked like a charm.
