Holy Crap...literally...

My husband and daughter and I took a trip to the mall today and we took our Tucker in my bag. I've done this many times and have run around town with him tucked in and I've never have had any problems. Well, we have been giving him extra treats lately because we have been teaching him sit and also have been trying to get him to go down the stairs on his own. He has a pretty sensitive system and I guess we over did it. I'm sure you can guess what happened at the mall. We were in a music store and Tucker started freaking out trying to get out which is not normal for him at all. Then I smelled this lovely rotton smell coming from my bag. He had vomited and had diarhea all in my bag! Since I'm not suppossed to have a dog in the mall, I had to quickly run out of there all the while avoiding two women from kiosk stores trying to sell me things! When I got outside I removed him from my bag and let him go potty and dumped as much poo from my purse as possible. I happened to have a blanket in the car I could wrap him up in for the ride home. Poor little guy. I think we'll be cutting down on treats and leaving him home when he's not allowed somewhere

Oh boy poor baby. A good treat that doesn't do much stomach upsetting while training is cheerios. Hope his tummy feels better soon.

I have to be extremely careful with what and how many treats I give my girls. If I keep them to a very, very strict diet with just a few treats now and then I have no problems whatsoever. It's my HUSBAND I have to worry about. He is forever handing them little pieces of his own food. It drives me crazy and I've read him the riot act a million times, but he still "Feels Sorry For Them" and I'll see him giving them a tidbit of scrapple or something that even HE shouldn't be eating. It makes me feel like I'm shoveling you know what against the tide.

In the recent past my dh wanted to feed my 4 doggies from his plate, too. Said 8 begging eyes was too much to take. I've finally got him to stop because one of my puppies is allergic to corn, wheat, and eggs. What really stopped the feeding was when I told him that people food could give the dog pancreatitis and that it would possibly cost $1000 or over to treat it.

chewy pooped in his carrier in a store once. it was awful, cause it smelled so bad! And no one knew I had a dog so of course I got a few looks!!!! But the worst was I found a trash can out side the store, and I was getting rid of the evidense when a man came along. My daughter was holding chewy but he was so small i guess he didn't see him. All he saw was me throwing something from a pet carrier away! He stared At me with this look like he was horrified! (I think he thought we were doing away with a dog because after we walked away he went through the trash!!!! ) My daughter and I were horrified and laughing like crazy at the same time!

My poor Sassy had a similar incident New Years Eve/New Years Morning. But not in public, thankfully.

My best friend has a new 'cottage' guest house. She is an interior designer and has worked on this place for many months now. Did a wonderfully fabulous job, I must say. It is beautiful.

Well, we were invited to spend the night...went to the guest house around 12:30 in the morning. Rolled up all the rugs so Sassy wouldn't be tempted. She assured me there wouldn't be anything to worry about.....aaaahhhh.

Along about 3:30 in the am Sassy kept wanting out of bed. She never goes potty at night so it never crossed my mind that she might 'need' to. In my mind she was wanting to 'explore' her surroundings. Then she climbed onto the table next to the bed, which I thought was because of the chocolates she had found there when we first came in. I caught that though so averted that potential situation. I thought she was off smelling for chocolate again. I reached out and got her and was pulling her back to me and......have you guessed??

Poor baby had diarrhea....all over the pretty linens and the pillow. Egad! I went from half asleep to wide awake at the speed of light! Didn't know what to do. No doggie (oatmeal) shampoo, blow dryer...and it is freezing outside. What to do, what to do???!!!!

I wrapped her tightly in a towel and put her on the chair and told her to stay while I tried to get it off my PJs. She is usually so good and listens to "Stay' but not then. Nope.....She rolled off and hit the floor giving me a near cardiac arrest. What a blessing it was a thick and soft towel. Now I pick her up and carry her around with me.

I pulled the linen from the bed and stuffed it in the trash can from the kitchen (which was new and clean) and went to start my van to go home and clean everything as I absolutely couldn't bear to wake my friend at that time of the morning.

AAaaacccckkk!! There was ICE all over the van, had to scrape it with a CC, get it warmed inside, load the linen, alll the while carrying this stinky Yorkie wrapped in a towel.

Well, we got home, bathed, blow dried, washed linen and rushed back up the hill and made the bed again just before they got up. How's that for a HAPPY NEW YEAR!?!

Actually, I do believe Sassy was nearly as distressed as me. She really wanted off of that bed. So it was all my fault and not hers at all. I actually believe the diarrhea was caused from getting beef for dinner for the first time in a while. We need to work slowly back into it, I guess?

AHH...I'm so glad i'm not the only one that's been in this situation BTW. I tried cheerios as per Bizzymamabees suggestion. He didn't like them so I tried saltine crackers instead. I just broke off little pieces and all together he only had one whole cracker this session. It seemed to work and hopefully it will be better on his stomach

I have given Sassy saltines, but I tried to scrape most of the salt off, first. She absolutely loved them!
