| Yorkshire TERRIERS To make a long story *semi* short....I left Sunday on an overnight trip. I called a friend of mine that night to check on Max (she came over after work to spend the night with him). She said everything was fine but Max had (a) crawled up onto my desk and (b) knocked off plants, etc. and my office was trashed. Max is 6-7 inches tall and weighs a little under 5 pounds. Even if he could get on the desk, it would be impossible (?) for him to reach the window. I thought she was nuts but told her to close the door (there was broken glass and he kept trying to get in) and I would deal with it when I got home. Monday I returned home to find the carnage and culprit in the photos. To make things more interesting, the culprit was still alive. After my initial coronary, I decided to open the windows and let him leave on his own. He didn't budge until chased from the window with a broom to a hiding place of his choosing behind my entertainment center. At this point, I closed the door and went up to the living room to regroup. Moments later, I hear a ruckus. Max had pushed the door open and was going after the culprit with everything he had. After many back and forth chases he temporarily caught it. The culprit then got away and jumped up to an open window at which point he was shoved out with the broom by me. Max continued to look for him the rest of the night. Which leads me to a quote from the Dog Breed Info page featuring Yorkies.... So true!!

| Welcome home indeed.... Max is fine. I called the vet and they said the danger with squirrels is a abscess if they are bitten. Squirrels are usually not rabid or so they said. I didn't see any signs of him being bitten and he's his usual spunky self. Very glad the squirrel is gone though....I don't like rodents of any kind. Ewwww!

| p.s. I think the squirrel entered when I had let Max on the deck to play for a few minutes w/ door open. Either that or there is an entry point somewhere and I'd rather not think about that.... lol

| Maybe he came to play with Max. I hope you were able to get everything cleaned without any damage to the computer or other expensive office equipment. |

| Cute story love it. They can be very naughty,Poor thing was probably scared when the plant fell and made the mess. WE raised 2 babies a couple of years ago when they fell out of the nest and loved it,they are very naughty though and like to get into everything kinda like a raccoons. And that looked to be a lovely Jade plant....I have a HUGE one. Last edited by 011011; 01-02-2008 at 12:31 PM. |

| I have heard of rabid squirrels. Thank goodness Max is fine. You have got to feel proud though that Max was so courageous to protect his home from that vermin. |
