| Do Yorkies purr? My little one makes the oddest noises - it's not a growl, it's a distinctively different sound. And he does it when he should be happy, like when he's rolling on the floor or in the grass - and sometimes when he's snuggling. I've had dogs all my life, but they've been big(ger) to BIG dogs, never anything this tiny. Everything he does is strange and wonderous to me. When he walks fast, he moves on "kitty feet", so it wouldn't surprise me if he purrs, too . Anyone else? Or am I misinterpreting his sounds? |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | Yes mine does. I only have one that does this and it's London, we always joke that she is half cat LOL She purrs a lot and acts like a little kitty cat, it's hilarious!

| Ha, that's so funny! I always say Tucker is half cat, too! The way he plays and bats at things with his front paws especially makes me think of a kitten.

| Tino purrs....and sometimes makes a sound like "GUUUUUUUUUHHHHHH" when we massage him or rub his belly while he is laying on his back. Lola is more of a "sigher" and always sighs when she finally gets in her comfy sleeping position.

| Lulu purrs too when we are massaging or petting her neck. She also arches her back sometimes like a cat when she stretches. We always joke that she is part cat! |

| OMG, I thought I was the only one too. My little one makes this humming/purring sound when I scratch behind her ears and face and her body goes limp like she was getting a massage from a proffessional. Its so cute.

| Ha! Yes, Archie does a little purring thing, too. Usually when he is looking out the front window and on my lap or shoulder. It's really a little low vibration he makes in his throat, which I can feel if my hand is near his neck. Strange, but oh, so cute!

| Neither of mine purrr, but Chloe squeaks. It's like a little grunt/squeak like her belly is too full, but she does it any time you hold her.

| I wouldn't call Parkers a purr but maybe a squeak; its like he is talking to me. At first thats all he did when I first got him home before he learned how to bark. Its the cutest thing ever!!! |
