| Floppy Ears? Hi everyone, I'm new to this board, and would like to say hello to everyone! We just got our little Yorkie puppy named Bear a couple of months ago. He is now about 3 months old and his ears are still not standing. I think he is adorable just the way he is..but I would love for his ears to stand up. I took him to the vet yesterday for his shots, and they said that shaving the ears might help, so I let them do it. Did any of you have problems your Yorkies' ears standing up? If you shaved them, did it help? Thanks in advance, Jessie |

He is teething and this will make ears that were previously standing flop, so you can also give him some cottage cheese and that should help too!

| Hi there - My little guys ears are floppy still at 11 1/2 weeks old. But it's ok for me. My boyfriend and I think he looks more puppyish like that. Plus, when I hold his ears up they look too big for his little head. I am taking him to the groomers on Saturday and I don't know if I should have her trim his ears or not because they might start to stand. I wouln'dt mind if they stood up, but I just don't one to stand and the other to flop! What would you guys do?

| Tucker's ears are floppy and I'm hoping they stay that way. When he lays back on the floor and his ears go up they are huge. (Beagle in his blood line???) Welcome to YT I hope that we can see some pictures of your baby. You can try calling your breeder for advice, too. There are other things people do to get the ears to go up, like taping them. Good luck

| TJ has floppy ears also. He is turning 4 months old on July 10, and his ears are as floppy as can be. I don't really care if they stand up. He is so cute when they are floppy, and I have held his ears up to see what he would look like if they stood up, and he was cute that way too. It really doesn't matter to me! I love him either way! |

| Jeremiah's ears are floppy too. I like them the way they are now but sometimes I wonder what would he look like if they were up but I would love him either way.

| Both of my pups ears went up on their own. Sometimes when they are teething their ears will flop.

| I have a four year old female and her ears have never stood. She's a DOLL! I also have a 6 month old male who has ears that stand straight up, but they are BIG! He's a DOLL, too! This is part of what makes each of our dogs unique. |

| Thank you all for replying. He is adorable with floppy ears! So maybe I'm not missing anything if they never stand up! I'm sure that we couldn't love him any more than we already do! I'll try to post some pics of him soon Thanks again |

| They did tell you all the right stuff to get those ears up. My puppies are 5 weeks old...2 already have their ears up and 2 don't (they stand up then lay back down). If they aren't up by the end of the week, I will clip the hair and the ears will stand. Sometimes the ears do look too big for them, making them look like little bats, but they will grow into them. |

| We had Gracie's ears shaved - about the top third of her ears and they have never stood up. Does anyone know just how much of the hair, how far down the ear, that you are supposed to shave? Gracie is almost a one year old - might be too late.

| Gracie is too old to get her ears to stand up now. You must catch it while they are young. I'm sure she is still adorable! |
