| feeling guilty me and my fiance are going to costa rica for christmas for a week and luckily we have a great family! my mom is flying into town to take care of little dexter and the cat tommy for the week that we are gone! its costing her around $600 for the flight to spend christmas in my appartment with my furbabies! lol. (my sister lives in town too so she wont be totally alone) i am so unbelievably thankful to her as i was worried about dexter staying with my sister (she has a tiny chihuahua with back problems) or a friend of mine in a strange appartment. i feel so much better that he will be in his home with his grandma and "brother" tommy, but i am still anxious about leaving him! has anyone left a puppy (hes 4 1/2 months, will be just over 5 months when we go) with a family member before? how do they adjust? why do i feel so anxious and guilty for leaving him!? from now on, only vacation that dexter can come on will be planned!! maybe i should give my mom my login info to YT so she can come on here with any questions! thanks for listening |

| You shouldn't feel guilty! You are making sure there is going to be someone there to give them proper care and spoil them in you absence. Dont' feel guilty about that! |

| Nope! Don't feel guilty. He will be just fine as long as he is in the hands of someone you trust who will give him lots of love. I leave my four year old daughter with my mother for four or five days at a time when my husband and I go out of the country and plan on leaving my dog with his breeder when I have to. My daughter loves it when we leave b/c my mother spoils her! And I'll bet your mom will do the same for your puppy! |

| Don't feel guilty. I'm sure Granny will take good care of Dexter and Tommy. I understand how you feel though, I always worry when I'm away from my babies. Enjoy your trip.

| I am leaving to the Dominican Republic to see my family this Christmas and I couldnt leave my baby here. I dont trust anyone that much to take care of her and give her all the love she needs. Well, I have a house there so she will be fine. But since your mom will be there, its all good. Happy Holidays!

i do feel good about my mom spoiling him..she pretends it is a chore for her and jokes that she is going to keep him in a shoe box the entire time (yes, she is totally joking! no one freak out!lol) but we had a dog growing up and i knew she really really loved that pup! even though she is spending christmas away from home with my furbuts, i have a feeling she is going to fall for my little dex and spoil him silly! hhmm, maybe i should worry about coming home and having dexter love her more than me!! i guess being a new "mom" i am just over worried about leaving my guy for the first time. maybe deep down im worried if i am going to miss him too much to enjoy my vacation! | |
