| No snuggles for me The older Tucker gets(he's 6 mths) the more he won't let me snuggle him. He lets me pet him and he loves me back but then he wants down to run and play. He doesn't like to sit and let me hold and snuggle him. Anyone elses Yorkie like this? I keep thinking he is just in the middle of puppyhood and as he gets older he will be happy to sit still and let me hold him. Any thoughts on how to get my baby to chill out! |

| I'm sure it's a puppy thing. I have heard so many people say their dogs did not like to be held or petted when they were puppies, and then when they got older they were more "lap dogs." I'm like you, I can't wait for my puppy to enjoy the snuggling. My husband says we will then wonder where our "puppy" went!! |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | just try to keep him happy while our holding him. sounds kind of like skin babies. the older they get the less they want to know you exist. i'm sure its just a fase (sp?) and he'll be back to cuddling with mommy.

| I've got a lap baby. You better not sit down more than a minute, because she will claim it as her own.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | They calm down after a certain age and I have a 3 year old and can say honestly - she acts EXACTLY like she did as a puppy - she still plays and acts as silly as when she was 6 months old.... I think Yorkies STAY puppy-like - at least in my own experience.... Keep playing with him and let him come to you - he will - they love attention !! |

| My husband always says, "Bo is such a good puppy...when he's sleepy!" When he's playful and ready to rumble, watch out! You'll not catch him unless there's food involved. But when he's ready to rest he's right there beside us. He loves to snuggle when he's tired. And it is the best of both worlds cause he's a lap dog sometimes and a little ball of fire sometimes.

| Princess is not a snuggler at all I cant even get her to lay down with me and take a nap. I wish she was a snuggler but every time I try she will wiggle so much I just end up putting her down on the floor. My Brownie is my snuggle baby and shadow no matter where I am she will be there on my lap or on the floor next to my feet. But Brownie has always been real mellow. Princess is so full of energy all the time, when I am sitting on the sofa she'll want up so I put her up then she will just play not snuggle at all. I hope she will someday like to snuggle with me.

| Chloe brings me toy after toy to play and Lacey is just as happy on my lap, or by my side. I think sometimes its just the personality of the dog. Chloe can drive me nuts sometimes and then other times I"m sooo glad I have Lacey to sit by me when I read a book. |

| Once I wear Coco out by playing she becomes a snuggle bug. But she has A LOT of energy and when it's play time, she doesn't want to snuggle. Once she's worn out, she will though.

| I would just continue to try to cuddle him especially at night when her is more tired. Chachi is not a cuddler either. As he has gotten older he lets you cuddle him more though.

| Tucker just doesn't realize what he's missing right now. As a puppy his world is just way to fun to be held down by hugs and kisses. Im guessing he will calm down as he matures and wanna be right there in your arms.

| Muffin was that way a bit. She'd come to you and want attention and loved to be hugged on, but then when you'd hugged her for awhile she'd want back down so she could go do her own thing. She was a busy little dog and loved to spend her days running around looking out the windows and doors. Who wants to be in a lap? Might miss out on something! She did like to take naps with ya though and wanted you to sit on the floor and play with her and brush her. But when she wanted to sleep during the day, she wanted to get in her daytime bed. She slept in our bed at night. |
