| I saw that on the news this morning too and I think it's great. We had an accident in '02...the EMT's wanted to take Boog to a (strange) vet to board him but I refused treatment if Boog didn't go with me. So, off we went in the ambulance and right into the ER where our son took Boog from there. I asked our agent if Boog was covered to be checked at our vet and she said no...I was pretty disappointed...but the EMT's did check Boog out for me, he was fine...and after we were released from the ER we took Boog to our vet at our expense. Maybe I'll ask our agent again and see what they say about it now. |

| I had never even thought of this before - but mine love to ride with me - but there is always the fear of what if something happens. I wonder how many other agencies are offering this. Does anyone know if this is a new product at Progressive? Or has it been around for awhile?

| What a great idea! We have progressive and I'm going to look into it. Marcus rides to work with me everyday, I just never thought about what would happen in an accident. Thanks for the heads up!

| That is neat.....not to sound cynical, but they they only cover $500. Honestly if a pet is in a car accident, they are likely to have WAYYYY mor than $500 worth of injuries. But I guess 500 is sure better than nothing, huh ??

| THis is what their site says : Pet Injury coverage is built in to your Collision coverage — there's no added cost if you choose to use it or not use it. It's just one more way we let you know we care about you and your family, human or otherwise. Pretty neat, for zero extra $$ ..sounds good to me...don't you think! |

| Caution... I've seen the commercial too. Great Idea. I'm sure it won't be long before the other companies offer the same thing (Come On Allstate!!). I am close to the automotive repair / insurance industry. My caution is that there are concerns about the dot-coms like Progressive and Geico. I won't offer details and I don't want to bash anyone as there may be hard-working agents on YT. Besides, all insurances companies are cutting more corners (sometimes in safety) in trying to save money. But some are already "budget" companies. I just want everyone to investigate their choices thoroughly and know that there are corners cut to save those dollars. No matter what your choice, we have to demand the right to have a say how our premium dollars are used. In auto repairs, most of us are not informed how our future safety relies on the repairs that are done to our cars. And therefore, most of us will not pitch a fit if our cars are not repaired properly. Stay safe all!!
