| Question about hair? What type of brush and detangler do you use? Roxy's hair is getting longer since her cut in September and needs to be brushed everyday now. She hates it but likes her baths. How do I make her not try to bite the brush. I gave her some peanut butter on a spoon when I was doing her back and all.

| The only thing I use is a stainless steel comb

| Thank you Lacy's mommy. One of my mom's friend who had many yorkies told me that I need to use a soft bush. Tonight after she had her bath and ran around like a mad girl I used the comb that I brought for her before she even came to her new home. I was soooo sooo happy the way her coat looked. She didn't like it at all. How do I make her like it?

So far as getting them to like it - I've never had a problem with Lacy disliking being combed. Rylie isn't too fond of it. I just try to make it pleasant - brush regularly so tangles & matts don't develop and cause pulling. You could give a couple treats while combing and afterwards. She should eventually get used to it.

| I gave her a spoon of peatnut butter tonight while I was doing it to her. So she didn't mind that much then. Your Lacy is beautiful. Roxy is still a pup so hopefully if I do it everyday it will work out. She has some matting. How do I comb that out and not make her hate to be brushed.

| I use a Chris Christensen brush. I believe it's the toy variety. They don't mind being brushed. ETA: With matts I normally try to remove them by hand and then brush them out.

| That is what I did with her tonight. I held her close and brushed it out. She didn't like it so I felt like "Mommy Dearest"

| I use the Chris Christensen Gold Series brush on Lady and follow up with their Buttercomb. I also love Ice on Ice as a detangler. Several members on another forum who show Maltese have been raving about this brush. They swear it's much better than CC or All Systems. I guess they sell them at shows, but Lainee, Ltd. carries them. I'm really dying to get a pink one! http://www.laineeltd.com/cgi-bin/lai...es_madden.html |
