| Pet store Blues I guess it is the time of the year where no yorkie mommy's and daddy's should look at the dogs in the pet store. This one I ran into tonight had pup's doubled up in cages that display them. Since Christmas is coming they want to make a load of money from people who dont know any better. They put the same breed together so they say brother and sister. Well there was a boy and girl yorkie together both born in September. It broke my heart to see them there and know they didnt come from a good breeder and prob not well taken care of. They didnt look sick just very wanted to try to lick my finger on the glass. The living condition wasnt very clean has do do in there and the papillon next to them had it on her fur. I am going to go and see the babies tomorrow again. They even had two silky terrier's that were together playing like crazy.

| Aw, that is heartbreaking. Well, families who are spontaneous will likely learn to take care of puppies they buy at pet stores. I mean, it's better they go to someone (who is hopefully very caring) instead of being put down. |

| I HATE pet stores We have one here in the mall and I just can't help but look when I walk past. Luckily I hardly ever go to the mall here. I always feel so sorry for them. You can always tell how poor quality the dogs are too, and white dogs will be stained yellow...I don't understand why anyone would buy one, especially at the prices they have on them. I wish people would educate themselves on puppymills and petstores. I also wish people would realize puppies are NOT a good gift (surprise gift anyway)....a lot of those pups received for christmas get put up for sale or taken to the shelter in the weeks-months following christmas

| Thankfully the mall here doesn't have a pet store in it. The one pet store in town is a stand alone type place, and I NEVER go in there once they started selling puppies At the mall in Augusta its very hard to walk by without looking. I would never ever buy one, but I feel so sorry for them.

| I felt so bad tonight and didnt want to walk away from them. Hopefully they are healthy pups and not the normal you find there. I do have a co-worker who did buy dogs from there and they are healthy. I am sure the teenagers who work in the store tell the buyers that it is a Tee-cup and will get no bigger. I def want to go tomorrow to make sure the poo is cleaned out.

| It was Monster pets on Snyder Ave. I know that you know the one I am talking about. I have a funny feeling that when they dont sell the animals there they take them down and put them in the back. There is a papillon I have seen there about 2 months ago and was gone and now her price is down to 300.00 and she is back in the window.

I've seen some there that are so OLD too! They don't even have a single toy or anything. I've even seen kittens! Are people to lazy to go a few miles down the street to PACCA to adopt a fixed, UTD kitten for SIX DOLLARS?? So sad..

| Yea they are pups about 6 to 7 months old sold for a cheap price. Right now they want to get rid of anything that isn't a small pup. There are no toys in there with them. They are just doubling them up. They did take the time however to put holiday blankets with them. No toys. It is just sad

| My local pet store had two yorkies in a cage and flies were all over them. It's just very bad puppy mills are so prevalent. |

| I know what you mean, I feel so sorry for them I just wnat to take them home.... but I always hold back because I will NOT put one cent in a puppymillers pocket. I try to educate everyone I know, when they want a puppy to go to a breeder not pet store. Those poor little guys.
