| The baby I gave away is 15 years old ... Back in 2000 for personal reasons I had to give my first yorkie away. He was 8 years old and a family pet . I did not understand like I do today about how much I could enjoy him, I was busy raising the children. So I found the best new owner ever and she continues to love him and take excellent care of him . They came to see me and Jax and Jolie in June and today I was inquiring about him because I know his health is not the best . He is going blind and has some renal failure. But here he is , this is Scruff and his marvelous mom of the past 7 years . He was 15 years old this past April. I am so happy he is still looking so well. Scruff is where it all started for me . The reunion was closure for me... but I felt like a teen mom who gave a baby away . I know he is loved but there are days I wish he was still with me .

| Your story brought tears to my eyes. It must have been hard for you but you did what was best for him. Knowing how much he was loved I am sure gave you comfort over the years. It's wonderful you get to see him at times. It's so hard when they get older to see them start to fail but he still looks like a pup from the picture. Yorkies never seem to change over the years, do they? Thank's for sharing your story. I am glad it was a happy one. |

| He looks wonderful for 15 and seems to adore his "owner" and vice-versa. I'm glad you got to see him and know how happy he is.

| What a wonderful happy ending! I personally respect people who are able to make the difficult decision to find a wonderful new forever home or place a pet in rescue if for some reason they can't love and care for them properly. All my furkids are rescues and it is shocking how many people just abandon their pets. My sweet Lady was tied outside in the middle of a 100 degree heat wave with thunderstorms everyday when her former owner moved away. It was three days before she was rescued. She'd been left with no food or water. I'm so glad your sad experience had such a happy outcome. |

| so good you care I think it shows what kind of person are that you still care. I had to give a cat away 2mo. ago. It almost killed me. I have spent the last 7yrs fighting my allergist but after ending up in the hospital 2wice in a yr I gave in... She is w/ my aunt and loved probably more than I love her.... which is saying a lot... but I hurt everyday that I did it... and feel guilty. It is so nice that ya'll have stayed in touch. Take joy in that! |

| It is so nice of her to visit. I find that when you have to give a beloved pet away and the new owner stays in touch, it is a huge comfort. I just gave my pet budgie away a month ago when we moved in to my in-law's as we are staying in the basement and she is used to free flying, I have decided to adopt her out to an owner that owns a single budgie so that they can be friends. The new owner stayed in touch and sent me pictures of her with her new friend and it is such a huge comfort for me as I do love her dearly and have spent months training her.

| Ach what a sad but nice story. Look at it this way. He give you the greatest joy the first half of his life, and is giving his second family joy for the second half of his life. He still looks so adorable, and so happy. I think you made the right for decision, for you all. Hugs.
