| Help Anxiety So Skylar is 8 Months. She was finally doing great. No more crying when i left for work maybe a little for a few min. I got sick a few weeks ago and my boss took her for 2 weeks. My boss's wife didnt work and was home with her all day. They also had another dog that Sky loved So now she is back in my small NYC apt. And everytime I leave for work she howels! and I just got my first neighbor complaint. I dont know what to do. She is my life. and has the worst seperation anxiety. The vet told me to see a specialist. It's just not the best time to spend the money right now. Does anyone have any separation tips?? Thanks

| I'm sorry that Skylar has that. It does make us feel really bad to hear them crying when we leave. Rudy had that also. I tried a lot of things to help him with that and the only thing that worked was getting another dog. Now when I leave for work, there is not a peep out of Rudy cause he knows that Lucky is right beside him in another crate. I know you said it's not the best time to spend money right now, but I do hope something helps for you and Skylar. Let us know.

| Once you come home from work, don't give your puppy any attention. Take 10 minutes to settle in without greeting/playing with your puppy. Once she has settled down, she will understand that she can't have your attention right away. Eventually, she might learn to stay put and be patient. Maybe this will help. Good luck! |

| I hear this quite a bit and one cure is... Tell your little one why your going out and give an idea of when you'll be home. When I have to leave mine alone I say... I love you but mommy has to go do some running around (go to work), I'll be a few hours and will try to be back by xx time. Trust me, my daycare dogs know what time they get picked up at. I have one that I've asked her mom to add an extra half hour to her eta. Alana

| My Mocha has the same problem, so I can fully understand your frustration I take him to work with me, and I also take him on a lot of errands. He's never alone for long at all, but when he is (for example, when I'm showering, eating, etc.) he gets hysterical in his crate. He cries, barks, and tries to dig and chew his way out of the crate. He's still young though, so I'm hoping he'll get better with time. Good luck to you and Skylar Quote:
