| Spoil you pet???? This is an average day at the doggy groomers out here... (ok there are a few that are not like this, but majority are). They run about $85-115 for a Yorkie when I asked....needless to say, Turbo didn't get his hair done. http://www.animalplanet.co.uk/tokyod...ed/index.shtml

Charly, I live about 18 miles from dowtown Tokyo. Anything you can imagine here is expensive! hah. My dogs food that is normally sub $20 in the states is almost $30 here. I can't wait to be back in the land of semi-normal prices!

| Oh my gosh! We pay $25.00 for each of our yorkies to get groomed. She baths and trims them, nails, ears and anal glands. Our groomer is great.

That is the reason why I groom my doggies myself out here. Tooooo expensive. I invested the money in clippers, shears and a good tear free baby shampoo. Mustache trimmers are great for their ears/potty area/feet.

| Japan is just crazy expensive anyway, and the people that do have dogs are fanatical about them.

For trimming, there are others out here that can give better instructions, but since Turbo is in a long coat, I just use mustache trimmers ($11 or so at your wal mart) on his ears, half way down his ears coming to a "V" in the middle of his ear. Use them very carefully on the potty areas (in front where his belly hair gets hit by potty), and around his booty, but really carefully. For his paws, I just trim the excess hair to where it is flush with his pads. If it is getting yucky, then I do a little more in depth. I take a good pair of hair shears, and trim his skirt even, and his legs (front by holding his leg straight in front and cutting at an angle away from his paws). Back legs I just make them look neat, and I leave his beard. Chest area gets trimmed with the belly hair and skirt.

| That is the TRUTH! Their babies go everywhere with them!!! Go into coldstone, a lady has a stroller full of poms, another has a chi in her designer carrier. Dogs are treated like royalty out here. I think I have only been asked to leave one store with Turbo.

| I live in West Los Angeles. The "Dog Spa" across the street from me (which, if reasonably priced would be super convenient) charges $100 for a "deep tissue massage", $85 for "shampoo, condition, cut and style", and $40 for "spa manicures". They also sell useless products that start at about $50 for a tiny bottle. |
