| ![]() I was just now trimming the hair off the top of Max's ears (they're almost standing up but I wanted to keep the weight off them totally so they'll perk the rest of the way up) and he started to squirm. Instead of doing what I should have, which is taking the clippers back up and resettling him, I just tried to hold him a moment longer and get that last bit of hair. I nipped the edge of his ear and he let out a yelp. It didn't bleed but a minute and he didn't act like it bothered him past that but I feel TERRIBLE! I have trimmed my horses ears (and the rest of their body) a million times and have never knicked them with the clippers. I have trimmed my childrens nails a billion times and have never hurt them. But try and trim my poor puppy's ears and I hurt him. ![]() |

| ![]() Dont be so hard on yourself . He will forgive you and tissue heals fast ... like 7 days... just keep it clean and dry ... use a little peroxide on it ... it might burn but keep it clean ,

| ![]() Awwww, I'm glad he's alright! I kept getting nervous that I was going to clip Bella's ear if she would start wiggling. Finally her ears starting standing up on their own!!! I'm sure you are a great mom! ![]()

| ![]() Sorry to hear that you cut his ear. Don't feel bad it happens to the best of us. It even happens to people who are professionals. You are a great mommy for taking care of him. Just keep the cut clean and it should heal fast.

| ![]() Awww, don't feel badly you didn't mean it. It will heal and he has already forgiven you. I'm always so scared that i'm going to slip too, but honestly I'd rather do all the grooming myself then have some stranger hack her kwim Give him some extra hugs and kisses, he knows you love him. ![]()

| ![]() I niched Lacy's ear once with the clippers too. It just bled a very tiny bit. I felt bad, but she was okay

| ![]() Thanks guys. I cuddled him, said I was sorry tons of times and gave him a couple treats. I put some Neosporin (sp) on it and he doesn't act like it bothers him. He sleeping peacefully next to me here so I think he'll be fine. It's a long way from his heart. ![]() |
