He WAS housebroken! What happened??? - YorkieTalk.com Forums

We crate-trained our little Sully....and after much work and tears and poopy-messes, ta-da, it worked!

Sully has been "housebroken" with no accidents in the house for over a month now. He's good to tell us when he needs to go outside...

Wait. Let me "rephrase" that: he WAS good to tell us. Now that he is 7 mo. & 3 weeks old, he recently started pooping in the house RIGHT AFTER we take him out! We had to throw away the pillow in his kennel because he pooped on it!

He knows he's wrong when he does it because he comes to us afterward and cowers - his way of telling us "I've been bad Mommy, please don't be mad at me." [And I just put Frontline on his back...and had to give him a bath b/c he was covered in poop. We had to start barracading his kennel again....a freedom long since given to him.]

Is this some sort of yorkie teenage rebellion? Laziness? What?

There has been 4 "accidents" in 3 days. After two months of perfection...what happened?

toby was really good too, then he got BAD again..... he was really good at going on his pads, and then he just stopped using them alltogether!!!!! and he did the same thing, the cower i've been bad dont be mad thing..... i have to say that i got REALLY frustrated (i couldnt help it, i mean cmon, he knows better!!!!) hes been good again lately but he still has the occasional accident (not nearly as good as the 100% pad trained that he was..... oh, and he only goes pee on his pads now, he decided that he didnt want to poop on them anymore like he was before

I do have to say, i was so frustrated there for a while that i seriously asked myself wether i did the right thing in getting another dog. . . . but, the amount of joy he brings to my life far outweighs the amount of frustration so i guess hes a keeper

I think it is rebellion, but that is just my opinion..... i dont understand why though, because they know they are in trouble the minuit they do it

thank god there are other people like me. my pup is almost 8 months old. up until 7 months she was about 95% housetrained. now she is 0% housetrained!! I am at my wits end!! I don't know what to do!!

I heard that dogs start to test your patience ("who's the boss" stuff) at the age of 6-9 months? Could this be it?

Also, my neighbor got a chow puppy downstairs, though he is being paper trained and doesn't go in the yard very often (its' my dog's "territory").

Is this a male dog thing?

Has anything changed? A new puppy? etc.. Lady was an only child at first and was a breeze to train! She was so good that after a couple of weeks at home,we went from using 6-7 pads around the house,to just 2..one in the living room and one in the bathroom.She was wonderful!
When Lady was 7 months old,we bought Jess home and suddenly it was like having 2 new 8 weeks old pups! She was pooping and peeing EVERYWHERE! We tried EVERTHING possible..we read books,spoke to our vet..we spoke with Ladys former owner..etc..we did everything humanely possible.But at 16months old,she will NOT use her pads anymore unless we sit with her and make her use them,she will also poop in our shoes or on our feet wilst we are sitting around!! Its VERY frustrating because we KNOW she knows where she should be going,she even goes to the pads and sniffs at them only to walk away and pee 20 feet away

We have lost hope now and sadly Lady has to be confined to our bathroom most of the day because she will insist on pooping ON us or in our shoes etc.I have no idea why she started doing this or why she will not go back to using the pads like she used to...I think she is STILL hoping that we will take Jess away! lol.

my scrappydoo is the same way sometimes he uses his wee wee pads and other times he dosent ,hes 15 months old every now and then i catch him to start to lift his leg i yell at him and take him to his pad ,so now when i leave im back to gating him in the kitchen ,they are hard to house break but i love him anyways .
