HELP!! Our dog wont sit still and sniffs everything! Help! We have had Charlie for just over 2 months. The vet tells us he is 1-1/2 year old. We do not know past history, however, he will not sit still. We bring him up to our room to watch tv and he sniffs all the chair legs and bed posts etc. He hasn't even tried to lift his leg or pee though. He will just walk around and around sniffing. We watched him do this for over 2 hours the other night. He wouldn't even stop. We took him outside to do his business, and he came back and started all over again. He seems to sniff his backside often too! He also wants to bite everyone that comes in the door. He took a snip at my father-in-law, but I got to him, before he bit. He has been neutered, and has all his shots, including a shot for allergies. Vet doesn't understand why he does this. He offers behavior training, which we plan to do soon, but I need help now. My daughter (14) is in tears cause he won't sit still. She calls him the OCD dog! Can anyone offer any help? We would be extremely grateful.

No other pets in house for over 8 years. Thanks for reply. There has not been a pet in our house for over 8 years. We have since had many of the carpets in the rooms replaced. Even when I grab Charlie and place him my lap, he is sniffing his backside and everything he can!

Could your dog be bored? As small as yorkies are, they still need some activities. What about playing tug or teaching him to fetch. Or maybe you can teach him some stupid dog tricks. I bet if you play with him enough he will tired out and sit still.

Thanks you may have something! Yes the weather hasn't been the best, and our walks have been short. You may be correct. I will try to see if he still sniffs around after a good long walk. Thanks again.
