| What's the best training treat. I currently have two 13 week old Yorkie's. They are my world and want nothing but the best fir them. I prefer cooking there food and treats since I know how its made and that its natural. I feed my babies ground royal cain, chicken and rice mix. 50% puppy food and 50% mix. I started this to get them to eat, worked like a charm. Now I'm trying to figure out a safe treat I can make for training. I was thinking about Bacon but am worried about the salt. Would love sugestions. Been giving them chicken but I can't leave it out. I want something I can immediately reward them for when they potty in the potty spot. Bella has pretty much figured it out. Jewel I believe knows but is trying to show me who's boss, lol. I don't discipline them for accidents, or even intentional, its there safe area and you can't punish them in there safe area, just reward for good. Hoping to use Bella to get Jewel in line. I was giving each treats for using the potty spot, a 2 by 3 foot green carpet I got from home depot. Jewels going to gey mad when I start to praise only she who uses the spot. Thanks for any help i can get. 😊🐶🐶 |

| I understand your wanting to know what's in what you feed your little ones. I feel the same. There are some companies I think are pretty good. I recently went to the Rose city classice dog show. I found some treats made by a company called Naturals. I found out they are the same manufacturing plant as primal. Their ingredients are very similar. They have bison, liver, beef, chicken, fish etc. Lexi is a bit of a picky eater at times, she really likes these treats. I break them up and just give her a little piece. Check it out. |

| They are so young so be really patient with potty training. I takes Yorkies a lot longer to learn than many other breeds, and some never get it 100%. As far as treats, some people give just a piece of their kibble, or kibble of another variety so it is different, and many use Cheerios and I've heard Goldfish Crackers. Mine get green beans for treats and love them either cooked or frozen, and I cut them into 1" pieces. Sweet potatoes are very popular, dehydrated as chips, or just tiny cubes of cooked. Some like apples bites, but not too many as it can make their stool too soft. No bacon, it is too fatty and can give them diarrhea or worse. I also use the Lamb & Rice "jerky-type" treats from Costco which I break the strips into small 1/2" pieces. Overall, I don't give treats often, but I get that you want to as a reward, and there are many healthy choices. Good luck.

| I boil chicken breasts then dice it and freeze . I can pull out a tablespoon everyday , thaw and cut into tinyier pieces. I store in fridge in a baby food jar. I also make doggy cookies out of equal parts of wheat germ and baby food. Bake 350 15 min. And freeze. They get green beans once in a while and a little banana. |

| As MauiGirl suggested, for potty rewards, I simply use a piece of kibble. I think it has the added benefit of reinforcing the dogs' love of their kibble. My boys love the dash to the kitchen and the sound of kibble jar button top popping.
