| Potty Training! I have a new 4 month old yorkiepoo and am having difficulty training her to go on the pee pee pads. We live in an apartment and she won't be going outside as much to use the bathroom especially during this cold time. As soon as I put her in her crate she winds up going in there. Help please! Any advice? |

| You could try using an expen. Place her bed on one side and pads opposite her bed, as well as food and water if you are gone during the day. And when you are home, you have to watch her constantly, limit her access to one room where the pads are and if you see any signs of her needing to potty, immediately take her to the pad. If, she goes, give lots of praise and treats. You can also say potty right before she starts and eventually she will potty on command. |

| I got my Yorkiepoo at 7 weeks. We are in an apartment also. He was semi pad trained when I got him but they used the double sided crate method. I tried using that pad training spray but it didn't really do the job. I potty trained Mr B using newspaper on top of the pads. I put several layers of newspaper down, when he urinated I would remove the first top layers of newspaper but would leave a scented layer under new newspaper so the dog would know where to return the next tinkle time. He is now pad and outdoor trained.

| We have tethered Princess Sophie for a time, so we can keep a very close eye on her. She just goes everywhere I go and she's learning to walk on a leash at the same time. LOL Two benefits in one. When we are away...she is restricted to her play pen where she has her crate, food & water, a potty pad, and some toys. She's happy to be there!

| I've noticed with my 2 that routine potty breaks is the key. I have pee pee pads out but mainly take them outside every 2 to 3 hours. Have you tried treats for when she does potty on the pad? And make a big deal out of it as silly as it might sound when Keegan who is my younger yorkie does his business where I want him to we dance around an cheer an he gets a treat. It seems to be working lol

| Yes I forgot make a big deal out of pottying on the paper and reward accordingly. I still make a big deal out of it because sometimes he goes half on paper and the floor. I guess two front paws on paper beats none at all in his mind. LOL Also he doesn't like doing #2 and #1 in the same area. LOL Thank goodness I had enough hallway area to subdivide. I also use washable welping pads at home.
