| Pee on my BED!! Good day. I have never posted a thread before so here I go. I have a female yorkie that is 2 years old. I have had her since she was 10 weeks old and has done wonderful with potty training. She uses a potty pad and goes outside. I have since gotten a male yorkie about 8 months ago and he is 2 years of age. We have my daughter staying with us at this moment (been there about 8 months now) and she has a 2 year old female havanese. My Ellee (female yorkie) just had a litter of puppies which everything went wonderful and all at their new homes. My point of this thread is that all of a sudden she in the last week has pee'd on my bed TWICE!! What in the world has made her do this? I know that the havanese is in heat but she is kept in another area of the house and always with a diaper on and never in my room where Ellee sleeps and has done this unacceptable behavior. I am at a lost for words, this is so not her. ANY IDEAS ON WHAT TO DO? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

| My Ruby did that a couple months ago...I just cleaned it up extremely well and it hasn't happened again...maybe take her in to get checked to make sure she doesn't have a UTI?

| It is possible she could have a UTI or the pregnancy and delivery could have stressed the bladder. Sometimes peeing in a very obviously wrong spot gets the attention of an owner that may not be aware of the issue. These dogs are very smart. Also the fact that the dog in heat is in another part of the house does not stop your female from sensing what is going on. A female in heat can be detected by another dog from miles away. The hormonal issues of dogs are very ingrained in them. A female dog does respond to other females in heat and sometimes very negatively. She can't help it. It is a deep response that she has no control over. Getting her spayed may help if the issue continues. |

| Thank you so much. I have called the vet and they want me to watch her and if she does something strange again like that to bring her in. I have an appt set for Saturday to have her checked out to make sure she is fine. She is the love of my life and I want her safe and healthy. |

| I would almost think that the other dog being in heat might be triggering this. What I have seen, both male and females seem to act differently when there is one in heat. Her hormones are probably not yet 'calmed' down after having pups. Now, I also must add I don't know much about breeding, have always wanted to, but know I should leave that up to you ladies that have the know how. I would be too afraid to do that. My little Libby has done this a couple of times, She is almost 3. I think she just doesn't take the time to empty her bladder like she should. It is like she just couldn't hold it. Maybe it's just a little too much excitement before bed...who knows. They sometimes know just how to get our attention! I once had a little poodle that would poop on my pillow when we would go out in the evening. Kind of 'I'll show you, leaving me when I want you home ' |

Senior Yorkie Talker | A week after Molly had her pups she done this and also had a few other accidents around the house, she is fine now and had no more problems so I just put it down to post pregnancy bladder. If you can get a sample for your vets appointment (not easy) but they will be able to test it for infection just for your peace of mind
