| Hi I need advice for my new girl ! Hi Everyone I just adopted a 2 year old Yorkie named Maggie from a kennel she is less than 3lbs and very scared as she has been there in a cage and seen only a few people in her 2 years and been handled very little they parted with her due to her size they didn't want to breed her. She sits beside me in my chair she is very scared and I talk to her and just let her watch me? But my big question is at this size and her coming from a kennel how should I start housetraining her? She always went outdoors in her outside cage but where do I start should I indoor train her do to size and winter coming or stick to trying to outdoor train her? Which I took her outside she has clearly never been in grass and will lay there and not move. I really have leaned towards indoor training but how never did it any helpful info would be great. Thanks so much in advance! Also Has anyone heard of the puppy apartment anyone have any info on if that might reallt work or if it would be a waist of money? |

| If she has a crate and wont potty in it,house training for outside shouldnt be any different than training a puppy. Lots of praise, treats, outside every hour (set a timer),if she isn't in the crate then she should be right with you. Lots and lots of patience. As for the cold, get her several sweaters, hoodies and jackets. She will probably need them because she is so little. My little dogs wear sweaters, nighties, hoodies and the girl wears dresses. I keep my girls hair short because it is easier for me to groom and keep tangle free. The flip side is that she wears cute clothes to keep her warm. Good luck |
