| Should I call the vet? Yesterday when we drove to pick up our new furbaby, Deb got sick in the car. I figured it was just the excitement of meeting her new baby sister and being in the car for 10 hours. She and Maya are getting along well and not fighting at all. This afternoon, Deb threw up again. It is mostly liquid and I am not sure if I should call the vet. SHe is eating A LITTLE....and drinking water. Also, do you think I should seperate the two puppies?

| Its all ways good to have a new puppy checked out by a vet before putting them in contact with your other pets. But some times its hard b/c of the timeing and all. I would give her some Pedylite and nutri-cal It may just be from the long car ride. If she doesnt seem better soon i would call the vets. |

| It may just be the excitement. Samson got sick once when he was about 2.5 months old and he was around a few new people all at once. If you're able to financially I would take her to the vet just to make sure it's nothing else. |

The good news is that she is eating and drinking. Might not be a bad idea to get some kind of light tranquilizer (from vet) the next time you plan on her traveling with you in the future. Sometimes, like people, some pups/dogs are prone to car sickness. Good luck to you. | |

| It could be from all the excitment but then again something else might be bothering her belly.. I would atleast give the vet a call and see what they think. Good luck and I hope Deb feels better asap. Maybe you could consider seperating the two.. Not only in case Deb is sick and might make her new baby sis sick but also bc maybe if the excitement is the problem then perhaps Deb can settle down and settle her belly!

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I would say it was probably something between the car ride and the new little one around....as long as she is eating and drinking and playing some I would give her a couple of days to see if she gets better...but if she stops eating for any reason take her in...I hope she gets better soon....keep us informed on how she is!!

| Thank you everyone! I called the vet and she told me to just keep an eye on her and like all of you said...as long as she is eating and drinking some she is probably fine. I didn't let her eat tonight, but I gave her water and nutri cal. She played with the kids tonight and she and Maya are sleeping curled up in a little ball now. The vet also said that I should not seperate the two yet. If it is Deb getting used to her new sister, she said it would be better for them to get used to each other sooner rather than later. Hopefully by tomorrow her little stomach will have settled and all will be back to normal Thanks again for all the replies! I just love this site!!!
